ive got a buddy wanting to sell me his rebuilt b16 for 600 bucks 60'000 miles on it
will my d15 tranny work with that motor or will i need a new one also what other things do i need with it??

no d series tranny wont work and, in my opinion, the b16 needs the b16 transmission with its baby stroke and low torque.

is this a buddy or just some dude you know? rebuilt motors can be fine....or a nightmare that someone is trying to pawn off on you.

Compression and leak down test....dyno pull etc. I say big negative ghost rider. You would need an ECU, tranny, axles, shift linkage, at least a trans t bracket mount and such. You can gt a B16 swap for cheap ($1500-1800) and thats not a re-build. I dont really trust buying used rebuild /high performance motors but thats just my paranoid ass

your probly right so how can i just do the swap is there like a website that i can trust that will send all the stuff or just take it to my local shop?

H Motors Online is your best option for a whole swap. I've never dealt with them but I've heard they're honest and helping

Yes, you can just take it to a shop and tell them what you want. It's probably going to cost you 4-5 grand though...

+1 on H-Motors

well i was told that doing the mini me on my d15 ill make like 150 horsepower but the b16 i read only makes 160 is this true??

150 horses from a Mini-Me? No. You're basically building a D16Z6 minus 0.1 liters of compression. A D16Z6 makes 130ish horses, so I doubt you'll get 150 from a Mini-Me unless you add quite a few after-market parts.

And yes, a B16 puts out 160 horses. If you want something with a bit more "oomph", then check out a GS-R (170 hp), or an H22 (200 hp, but not as easy to swap as a D or B-series engine)...

hey,i dont mean to pry,but i can speak from experience.my b16 is currently at 380 hp on the dyno.so its a baby beast and depends how much you push it.

That's good input, but I'd also add that obviously you're boosted. I'm not quite sure if he's at that level yet. He seems to be at the "how many horses would this motor make stock?" level...
