Theory: Homosexuality is actually a repressed genetic trait that is only displayed when a populace is facing overpopulation.

who gives a shit why they feel that way.
as long as one doesnt expect special rights because of it, it doesnt bother me any.

The problem is that special interest groups aren't satisfied with true equality - nobody is. Equality has no place in our society at current, because equality doesn't earn you a living.

As far as homosexuality is concerned, it has existed since ancient times. Back then it wasn't a lifestyle so much as a sexual perversion. Over time, the condition itself hasn't changed, it's been the context that has changed.

exactly what battle pope said.
homosexuality has been around since the dawn of man.

personally i feel its just as natural as a man wanting a woman.
gays dont bother me, as long as they dont try anything with me.

the theory is bullshit because, as stated, homosexuality has been around forever. even when population was relatively low.
every species on earth that has male and female genders has homosexuality.

well what i think lets say its a gay guy, i think they was almost born a girl, but something along the way didnt spit right haha, but really, i mean as a straight man theres no amount of time that could teach me how to pris like a girl have expressions like a girl and so forth.

The theory is saying it was repressed; which means it was always there. Only now that we're facing over population is it "coming out" more (for lack of pun, lol).

Either it is more socially acceptable now than when I went through highschool (14 years ago) but I see a lot more kids being openly gay now.

it is. thanks to mtv, the real world, puck, and all the gay marriage stuff on the news, most people just don't give a shit any more.

hell, it's COOL to be metro. look at seacrest.

yeah, but the theory is wrong. theres evidence all throughout history of people taking part in gay acts.
it was done in secrecy, but not suppressed. there have been other cultures in which it was very acceptable to have sex with whichever you preferred.

but, these days we have reached a point where there is pretty much equal parts of "i dont see an issue/i just dont care" and "its wrong"

so, its more acceptable for people to be open about it.
the biggest suppression of homosexuality came with the creation of certain religions. most of the religions that worship only one god have put gay in the category of sinful and wrong.
but, they also grouped a lot of other perfectly natural things into the same category.
it all depends upon what your beliefs are that will lay the groundwork for how you feel about the subject.

if you look at most of the sinful things, they are mostly natural instincts of animals. made to make people feel bad about the natural emotions and urges that take place.

I have no problem with it. You do you.

My problem lies with trying to force ideals on people. Mostly religion, but sometimes even homosexuality. I use to work with a guy that would hit on me every day and get in my personal space. I told him he made me uncomfortable and threatened to kick his ass multiple times, and he played the hate crime card. Finally a manager happened to see one of these exchanges and threatened to fire him.

Another time, I punched a gay guy at the bar. I was standing around, minding my own business, and this drunk ass guy kept dancing up on me. His friends thought it was hilarious. I finally had enough. But I didn't do it because he was gay, I did it because he was unwelcome. If he did the same thing to a girl and got slapped/punched, I would think he deserved it too.

I treat people like people. No different if you're gay, straight, black, or white. There are nice people and assholes in every crowd.

Agreed about religion.

I don't think anyone said there was a "problem". I don't think anyone was accusing you either... wtf?

you do you = be yourself, do whatever makes you happy.

Do you think homosexuality would be as prevalent if we as a species had to count on reproduction for survival?

just for the record i dont care either way, its just something for discussion

i dont believe its a gene. more of a chemical imbalance in the mothers body that makes the brain develop a certain way in the womb and then after birth and through adolescents, these tendencies are either nurtured or repressed. that being said, nothing wrong with being gay, but there is something wrong with society that demonizes this lifestyle/tendency just because its different than what is considered normal.

oh and also, i dislike the gay community for different reasons. i live in san francisco and ive had to go into a gay club to get my friend so we could take off. ive never felt so degraded. dudes grabbing my ass and eye fucking me left and right. i gained a new respect for what women have to put up with.

Well that's a funny situation. Are they wrong for degrading you? Or did they assume you were gay because of where you were? Dissrespectful assholes either way, but that occurs in all walks of life. Have you ever seen a guy in a strip club ask for a lap dance from a girl that didn't work there? Hilarious no doubt, but they put themself in the situation for the question to be asked.

I myself have said that I treat girls, and people for that matter, the way they let me treat them. Demand respect and you will usually get it.

incest was also widespread in early days of egypt all the way through the middle ages in royal lines. it was deemed acceptible by society.

Today, we will instantly drop inbred insults, and in fact, it's illegal to marry anyone closer than 2nd cousin IIRC.

Is the incest movement next? :X

That depends on the culture we're talking about. If you're talking about Judeo/Christian cultures, then yes, it was viewed as a perversion. In the Greek and Roman cultures though, homosexuality was accepted and even idealized...
