Finally making it look nice...

Finally got back to work on my car. I have been driving it for the last 2 years flat black and no front bumper cover. And i thought its time for change on season 2010. Here's some pictures to get you up to speed on my progress.

Now to the build!

Made 5 brackets per side to keep it ridged.

The back bumper was bowed out also and needed some mods.
I welded bolts to sheet metal and pop riveted them to the bumper and drilled holes through into the trunk to bring the bumpers sides in to hold it in place.

Also painted my wheels..

In the next couple days i am going to install my 3" electric cut off dump, but that depends how fast the stainless bends come in the mail. I'm Going to run it out behind the front tire. And ordering a carbon fiber hood. I am thinking about a VIS OEM because i bought a CF cowl induction for my 300zx and it looked like good quality.

Its a Volkswagen color... i forget the paint code. but you can just look in the book at a paint store to find it.

Not a Mugen its some ebay knock off. It was the only non ricer kit i could find, And also the only back bumper that didnt have the dual exhaust cut outs.

I think its just some miss matched kit. very poor fitment but it will be good in no time.

I went on a shopping spree today. I bought:

For the electric cut off dump:
1 x 3.00" Stainless Steel, 4.00" Radius, 45 Degree Mandrel Bend 1 x 3.00" OD, 16 Gauge, 304 Stainless Straight Tube 1 x 3.00" ID x 6.00" Long, Stainless Flex Tube 1 x 3.00" Stainless 3 Bolt Universal Exhaust Flange

VIS OEM Carbon Fiber hood.
I had to have that before I paint cause part of it is getting painted.

Smoked bumper lights.
mine where either broken or missing


Friday i am going to the paint store and buying good primer and hopefully priming it on Sunday at the latest. My goal is to have the car finished by next weekend so i can paint Clayton's CRX (Airjockie)

Remember i cut this before? well i moved it in 1/4 inch and re-glassed it

I also finished smoothing the side skirts from where i cut the 3/16" out of to shorten them, but i didn't get a picture.

I don't see the need for an antenna so i deleted it

I need a new LED strip for my spoiler break light.. Doesnt my thumb look odd? lol

Clayton is going to crab about this but i made a carbon fiber sunroof. I still have to make the inside so i can bolt it up. But i ran out of PVA mold release agent, hehe^_^

Its not perfect, but its pretty nice.

ok, so the car is blocked with 400.

I finished the electric cut off pipe setup (no pictures yet)

I finished my carbon fiber gauge pod that fits like sock replacement where the "speaker area" in on the dash nect to the tach and speedo.

well, off to bed... more to do tomorrow!
