yes. the cats guts are in the center section of the cat. the front and rear of the cat is usualy tapered to the enterance and exit fittings and are just sheet metal. you can drill through that easily without damaging the cat

yea no i know that jus drill the center out right? ive punched out a few cats b4 :x

if you want the cat to work and the o2 sensor to also work right you leave the cats internals alone. you just put your sensor into your cat. so when you punched your cats out did you recycle that platnum and plaitium in it? plaitium is platnums sister metal. both are precious metals. both are valuable

no i know i ahev a high flow cat in my car and it doesnt have the hole for the 2nd o2... and i forget wat i did with it i think i might of saved it somewhere.. but the metals in it are ver tiny peices... how do u get money for it lol/

they are tiny but here in los angeles i have a company that i test their diesel fleet for emissions. they recycle this metal by melting computer parts and circuit boards and exhaust parts with acids and other cheicals. they get all the precious metals from the bottom of the barrels of acids they use. they told me how they do this so i asked if they would buy the exhaust parts. they did and i watched them melt it and get some small pile of platnum and platium that needed to be separated. i have a little in a bag. i thought it was cool since i am into mining minerals and all the cool shit that we used to do in the 50s in this country. one day i'll show it to my kids and tell em how we used to be. i'm also into metalurgy and structural engineering...as well as alot of other stuff i think is cool for buildin cars. i got 18 bucks for the larger amount of petals i sold that company which came from 2 cats

oh thats not bad... a few companys up here in New Hampshire pay 50$ a cat for a honda cat... now they pay more for bmw benz ect ect

how much they pay depends on the car the cat came from if you sell it like that--the whole unit. i seen them put the cat gut crumbs in the tank and i seen them pull it out later. some cars use pore or less precious metals. i've also worked for johnson mathey as a consultant regarding diesel emission equipment. they also are the company manufacturing the largest portion of cats for the worlds cars every year. they supply cats for like 40 percent of the cars manufactured every year. they said some companies request cats with larger amounts of precious metals for different results.
