comes out tomorrow. anybody getting one?

i'll wait for the big price drop and debugging. looks pretty nifty. i would use it as a mobile movie player and for internet access.

no multitasking, current iphone aps run the same size as on Iphone(can be doubled but more blurry), Still no fcking flash support, and no usb ports...no thanks

its a huge iphone, far from a laptop replacement

no flash!?!?! f that shit. glad i jumped the gun and bought a netbook.

If you're in the market for a tablet, I'd wait for the Android tablets.

Spending $500 on an iPad is stupid, though you will be super trendy, like the guys who wear pink polos, and scarves, and berets.

i'm not saying i would get it. i don't even own an iphone.

$500 no.....$250, maybe.

it just seems like tech companies try to sell us the same thing but a little different. i dont need a tablet when i already carry with me my netbook, my blackberry, my psp and my ipod. why cant they just make something that has all the functions of this stuff. not make a new product that does less than all of these things.

Plus the post E quoted

But there is someone on this forum that is getting one.... It isn't me though.

alrighty, im not going to be as critical. I see the iPad having a few niche markets.

#1 the elderly, especially the 98% of them that are 100% computer illiterate. A giant iPod (with giant buttons) would be great for them. Bluetooth keyboard if they dont like the soft keyboard.

#2 Schools. These things would be awesome as 'desks'. I know a lot of you have read ender's game and I really think these would be useful as a teaching aid and even a text book replacement. The units are relatively cheap and are prefectly setup to transition to a classroom after a slight price drop (maybe 250-300 would be the perfect price for a replacement).

#3 Temporary information display. Maybe a museum tour or a hiring kiosk or something.

I dont see this being a netbook or notebook killer in anyway. would i ever buy one? hell no....do i know people that could have good uses for them, absolutely.

I still cannot get over the fact that there is no multitasking. I mean seriously, it has the hardware to do it but for some reason Apple is under the impression that no one would ever want to do more than one thing at a time.

It is just surprising that Apple just made a larger iTouch. I think it may fit in well in some very niche markets like reikoshea stated. But you have to worry about syncing it through iTunes and all that. No ports on the machine itself. Maybe this will spur some innovation though. Perhaps Microsoft will actually make the Courier a reality. Now that is a device I would be all over.

the only GOOD use i see of the ipad is in resturants to replace POSI systems. that's it. utter flop, like most apple products IMO

It has a very real shot at becoming Apple's next Air.
