Hi i have a 98 honda prelude sh it has a h22a with no compression in cylinder 3 ( bought it like tht for 1000$) and i am wanting to swap in a f20b accord SiR motor (im getting it for such a good deal i couldnt pass it up) and i was told that it will just go right in. But i would like to some other peoples opinion. will i need to get different mounts for the engine? i was told that it will bolt right up to the existing tranny that is in the car, is that the case? and also i am having trouble locating aftermarket headers for an f20b i can find them for the sohc version but didnt know if they where the same. if anyone could help me out on some of these question i would greatly appreciate it.

sweet thank you i have done numerous swaps for d and b series into civics but i have never touched a prelude until now so i just wanted to get a 2nd opinion thank you very much ^.^

ive heard that those f20b motors are bad-ass,but hard to find parts for. good luck,it should be a monster when its done.

sorry to bring up an old thread, but AHHVTEC you seem to have knowledge on the F20B swap into an SH, PM me with more info.

If you're going to make a request like that, please be more specific. You want more info on what? Installing the engine? Wiring? Building the engine? The specs of the engine?

Vagueness won't get you anywhere here...

And the F20B compatibility with the H22 is pretty much common Honda knowledge- saying it will bolt right up doesn't mean that a specific person has actually done anything with one.

hey guys, i got an f20b what kinda gas does it take. i just bolted it on to my 98 prelude tranny.. well the mechanic.. oh and what would be the redline cuz on the 98 prelude its at 7000... thats what it shows on the stock dash. something like that. but i heard the f20b revs higher or something. and ur not supposed to shift it at 3500 like with the h22a, but shift at 4500 with f20b in 98 prelude.

Hey..

i got an f20b what kinda gas does it take.

Im pretty sure the recommended gas for the f20b was higher octane.. id use the highest octane you can at the pump.. probably 93 octane but if you had to you could use any.

Im pretty sure the f20b redline is 7200 rpms.

WTF? you can shift whenever you want.. if you need more power (like going up a hill) shift later. if you are on flat and you can shift at 2000 rpm's without bogging out.. do it! it doesn't matter what engine it is or what car you shift when its time..

I have an F20B in my accord. Its a bad ass engine especially with a little work. K20's ek cant keep up. So if you have any other questions or issues i may be able to help.

Does it have a turbo? I assume so from your screen name.

Not really fair to compare a turbo'd motor to a non turbo'd one. An N/A K20 in an EK with bolt-ons would likely spank an N/A F20 in an Accord with bolt-ons...
