New Master/Slave Clutch Cylinders, STILL not shifting.

Ok, NOW I am utterly pissed, and I can't stand this crap anymore.

I changed both my slave and the master, both a brand new, bleeded the damn thing until a whole liter when thru the lines, my clutch is hard to press (Like it should be).

So I start the car, after changing the master/slave, first few seconds I can get into gears, after a moment, I can't, and then no more shifting if car is running,
If I start the car in first gear, I can feel my pressure point, the car will move forward no problem at all. (Pressure point is alright, middle of pedal, grabs well.)

The car felt like it wanted to stall, if I gave it gas, it lowered the rpms instead of getting them up, in the first moment after I reinstalled the master/slave, then it was ok (Could be caused by my Coolant Temperature Sensor that needs a new connector because last one had an accident.)

So please, What the hell is going on with that damn car?

Thank you once again...

So there is an adjustment screw under the dash where the master cylinder connects to pedal assembly....I believe you wrote about it earlier?? Maybe you have this screw adjustment way off? I know when I switched master cylinders....I had to adjust mine b/c the clutch was releasing with the pedal at the bottom of the floor after I put another one in.

did you adjust your clutch pedal after the new parts were installed and bled? if you haven't then wiggle under your dash with a 14 mm or 9/16 wrench and loosen the locking nut on the neutral safety switch, un-clip the connector and turn the sensor to the left and your pedal will raise. do this until you notice "almost" no slack in the pedal and tighten the locking nut and re connect the clip for the sensor. hopefully that fixes it.

^^^ All is a good idea

When you installed the master cylinder....you have a "U-shaped" piece of metal that has the thread shaft going through it. It should have nut on the thread too. Un-clip the electrical plug attached, loosen the bolt and spin the threaded shaft. If there's not much thread coming out (towards the back of the car) then thread it out....if its the other way around....thread it in. Then tighten up the nut to lock it in place and re-install the wire clip. Less slack between the pedal movement and master cylinder being engaged is the end result. Try it and let us know.

Alright, so I slacked the bolt with the connector on it, then I threaded the one with the U shaped thing until I felt the pedal had almost no free play it in, then I threaded the one with the connector until I couldnt thread it anymore because it was pushed agaisnt the pedal.

And well...IT FREAKING WORKED. Now I have a bearing sound coming out when I depress the clutch, which I think is my bearing not liking the not brand new pressure plate.

But at least I can drive the car, change gears and well, it works correctly...You made me an happy man, sucks that you guys live far from Montreal, otherwise I'd pay you a freaking round.

Thanks!

Sweet! Glad it worked out. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.....Go Joe!!

Bearing is brand-new, why would it squeak?

Lol yep, knowing sure as hell help, and you guessed my name right lol.

Throw out bearings that aren't OEM....well....they effing suck! I have the throw out bearing that my clutch came with and it still makes noise (I lubed it with grease before install too) but mine is different....it makes a squeakily noise unless I depress the clutch...even a little tiny bit and the noise goes away.

i maybe wrong or have this backwards so dont bash me too hard lol .. but wouldnt tht be the pilot bearing squeaking unless the clutch is pressed? jus curious bro..

lol. Seems it doesnt like to be pushed agaisnt the pressure plate, for some reasons. I'll buy an OEM bearing when I'll change my pp and clutch. (Still need to find a good deal for a Stage 1 pressure plate, because I can't stand a soft oem clutch anymore lol.)

I'll probably get it, seems to get good reviews and all.
But I won't be installing it anytime soon.
(Just removed my tranny twice this weekend, so I'm kinda not willing to do it again :p)
Thanks for the link!

lol i heard that bro.. although u should b able to tackle the tranny quickly now after that many times lol.... your welcome bro and good luck
