Well I've owned the car for the last 7 years and never drove it never did anything to it other than pull the motor and suspension. I had a 67 C10 that was a major piece and I took the small block 400 out of the truck and Im building a 406 out of it for the SS. Heres some pics, its been a shelf in the garage for the last 2 years and sitting on the side yard for 5. I originally bought it for 500 bucks off this kid from high school everybody told him it was a fake SS but with the almighty internet I've ran the vin# and it comes back as a 67 SS 327 with a 4 speed. I sold the motor that was in it since it was not original it was out of some 80s POS. So I really got the car for 200 bucks!. It needs alot of work but I hope it pays off.

Ya I feel bad that it just sits so since I have no other old schools I'm going to devote my time into her finally.I just got my solid motor mounts today and need to drop my heads off to get the steam holes drilled. Once all said and done the motor should be putting out close to the 500hp. Heres my set up:

small block 400 bored 30 over (406)
Scat rotating assembly
GM Bowtie 2 heads ported and polished
Victor JR. intake ported and gasket matched
650 double pumper Holly

not to sure yet if I want to get a 700R4 or put a 4 speed in it I have all the pedal assembly and rods. I still have a long way before that though

Nice. Treat her well...
Inspiration shots. (playing off your autox name)

Well Im thinking of getting a TPI (tune port injection) and not going carberated I've been doing alot of research and the TPI makes really good power in the low to mid range. I was told that a 406 doesn't rev that high anyways. Plus I like the way they look :D

they rev to about ~5000 depends on how bad you want to beat on it. but good luck! as long as the frame is in good shape you're golden

you mis-spelled Holley LOL mis-spelled or not its still bad ass

Oh, and Im not 100% sure since you swapped to aftermarket heads, but the TPI intake manifold will not bolt up to a 400 SBC without modification.
