head swap

I need help. I have a b18a1 and i was wondering if i could take the head off of a b16a vtec and put on the b18a1.

it will fit but im guessing u know the b18al isnt a vtec.. not sure but i think to get vtec to work right on it u will have to change ecu... i have a b18al n i puttn a b18b1 head and cams n mine.. good luck bro ..

It will work, but there are several modifications that you'll have to do so it works right. Here is a link with VERY DETAILED instructions on how to do EVERYTHING. I hope it helps bro. I just finished mine and it runs good. Im just trying to figgur out if it is worth doing. I have like 4 B18A1 moters laying aeound and its what i have in my race car now. Just trying to make more horse power and tork. Where is the number stamped on the head its self to tell what kind of head it is?

well if you have the spare heads just swap the head and keep rolling. If you want to spend a few more bucks on parts and labor for some more hp then do the LSvtec swap.

it's not an easy swap to do but it is fun to drive depending on the parts you use.
