im thinking of cutting my cat off i wast wondering will my exhaust sound like a pissed off bumble be if i do and what are the down sides to doing it

what kind of exhaust do you have? a lot of aftermarket exhausts get pretty loud and raspy with no cat.

so just a muffler on the stock piping?... it might not be too bad without the cat. it will get a little louder though for sure.

The only reason I clicked this is because of the title. I thought you were cutting your pet cat off wet cat food or something...

Why not just keep the cat, and get a catback exhaust?

I agree with the last post. or go one step further and get a high flow cat. You're going to need your cat for emissions purposes anyways. And for the record unless you have the stock resonators intact it will sound very loud.

Unless you want an extremely loud and most likely raspy sounding car, then I'd leave your cat converter intact. If you absolutely insist on getting rid of it, then at least replace it with a resonated test pipe...

yes, this is what i have. highly recommended if you want to get rid of the cat. keeps the raspiness under control.

I used to have a cheap 9 Hi flow ebay cat, with 2.5 in piping back to magna flow tip... It didn't sound all that loud or very raspy.

well the only reason i was going to cut it off was so i could make 100 bucks off of it i really hate loud muffler i like the tone to be very deep what do you recomend i get?

Lol... your gonna cut the cat out to recycle it? What year's your jalopy?

Do this.

I have a hollowed out cat on my race car and its loud as shit. But; I don't care how that car sounds.. lol

The sound will not be much different in my opinion. If your looking for more power, try changing your spark plugs, changing to a synthetic oil or changing your air filter. That will most likley gain more power than cutting of the cat, and is better for the environment.
