Oxygen Sensor and Evap System not ready

Engine light was on so I had to reset the computer by taking off the negative
wire to the battery.

How long does it take for both the Oxygen Sensor and Evap System
to be ready for the smog.

There were no error codes that came up. Only these 2 were the problem.
 
If they are throwing codes.....look into it being a connection or wiring problem. If its not that.....replace them
 
If you have replaced the O2 and evap urge...then try to smog it. Make sure you warm up the motor well. But also make sure you drive it gently. No high revs and let the motor get hot by a consistent low rpm and then have the smog guy hook it up immediately.
