I have an 89 CRX HF that was converted to mpfi several years ago becuase of an engine swap. Has been running great till recently. The coil went out a few days ago for no apparent reason. The car had been sitting unused for a few months. I would start it every week or so just to keep everything in good order. My truck is in the shop so I went to drive my little Rex but it wouldn't start that time. Tracked the problem down to a bad coil. Rplaced the coil and it started immediatly. I put a few hundred miles on it and it died again today with no spark. Driving down the highway and it just sputtered a few times and roller over and died.
What would cause it to blow coils? New dizzy cap and wires a few thousand miles ago. I'm scratching my head at this point.
