September 2003, I purchased my 2000 Civic Si for $16k (overpriced, I know)... I paid that down some at $300 a month.

August 2005, I refinanced it for a lesser APR and added the balance from a credit card to the payment, at $12,351.55. Dropped my payments down to $245.

Today, April 2010. With a mere $709.73 left, I'm a mere three payments of 236.58 away from having that damned title in my hands.

Words cannot describe how happy I will be without a car payment... finally.

And then it gets stolen.

Bahawahahahhahaha

I just looked last night at my balance I owe $18,800 on the benz =(

with the extra in pocket cash you can finish your tower.

Probably not, got a 3 year major expense that will start hitting soon. But, along with the car payment I'll have two other expenses going by the wayside with my tax return. 400+ in expenses gone, 400+ in expenses coming up... yay.

And then it gets stolen.

or some jackass hits me. I don't hardly ever drive it anymore, maybe 3-10 miles on the weekends, but my buddy has it to get to and from work for the time being as he'd been waiting on his NC state tax return to purchase a truck for himself.

I have to say you must be one of the most giving guys on this forum from putting up with all the bullshit with your roommates to handing out your car.

Roommate, BDN doesn't give me any shit. He pays his rent, I keep my insomniac ass quiet at night so he can sleep. lol

I try to be giving, Greg (the one with my car) is like a brother to me. In 2008 I bought him a brake caliper for one of his old cars... but he's fed me dinner and beer so much so it all evens out. lol

The lady and kid? Let not forget about your family business.....

Yeah, you said roommates, which lumps BDN in there. ;)

They're just a handful of problems, most of the time I don't have to deal with it. He was ready to throw down on his mom tuesday night, so I left with Greg to go to Meijer. lol

It was funny actually, he kept back talking her so he got "grounded" for a week with no xbox or phone, etc. Fun times! Just wish she'd stick to what she tells him. She'll ground him and within a few days it's overwith.

but that actually entails real parenting work instead of just sitting around watching jerry springer and eating cheetos. the way you describe her, i'm surprised she's only shit out 1 government burden.

nah, she had a fucked up child (edit: childhood...) so she only knows so much, she works her ass off for her son, unlike his waste-of-oxygen father.

Congratulations man.

And I'll say this. James is one of the most giving dudes I know. Super legit guy. When I hit it big. I won't forget ya. lol.

Good job man. I love having no car payments anymore. Infact, I don't think I want a car payment ever again.

Sweet, thanks. :) If I'd hit the 212 mill powerball, I couldn't forget the regulars at HS.

I'm leaning that way right now, if this engine ever dies, I'll learn real quick how to swap it. I would like to get a bike and a truck, not new though, but those can wait.

Congrats, mang. Loans suck, but hooray for good credit!

I think I'm 3 months away on the S2k.

Now just another 4 years on the xB, 9 more on the roof solar array, 29 more on the house............

Just made my 3rd to last payment... getting closer to finally having the title in my hand. I have 27 years left on the house, unless I refinance in the next few years.

Have one other loan that's close to paid off, and I just dropped a grand to cut my credit card balance down by 2/3rds.

I was talking to my dad the other day about how close I am to paying it off, and he handed me 200 out of his federal tax return to make a free payment. lol 467 bucks left. Not to mention I paid off my GE Money loan from HH Gregg and 2/3rds of one of my credit cards.

This is why I enjoy getting large tax returns every year, I can do more with 1300 in one sum than I can with the 5-10 monthly.
