Its getting pretty bad here. rain rain and more rain.
im in franklin, the harpeth river is about 25(ish) feet higher, and has expanded all the way out to anywhere it can reach.
whole parks are flooded, yards of course, streets are rivers.

Every interstate in the middle tn area is flooded and closed.
a house floated down the interstate, then disintegrated.

walked around with a buddy of mine taking pictures. will post soon.
but we got soaked and got some interesting shots.

these are from yesterday during the day.
been out all night driving around taking pics. cant get very far. there is only 1 road out of the little city of franklin. all others are damaged, flooded and closed.
the bridge that connects my road to the center of downtown was bubbling up in the middle last night. we were there taking pictures, and a bubble appeared in the middle of the road.
i got some pretty decent pics. although, i dont have good flash equipment, and didnt have my tripod so i couldnt get a lot of pictures.

Eddy ln. the water was flowing freely over. it was fun watching people consider trying to make it, then come to their senses. lol.

harpeth river. this is usually a little stream between the trees. you can see the bottom of the river when its at its normal flow.

this isnt the river, its a field. its about a 20 ft drop from the bridge usually.
31556_1454734966789_1185774220_31426230_863088_n.jpg

you shouldnt be able to see water in this pic at all.
31556_1454735006790_1185774220_31426231_177415_n.jpg

the railroad tracks, once again, you shouldnt be able to see the water.
31556_1454735046791_1185774220_31426232_6548503_n.jpg

should be a little stream, hardly a river usually.
31556_1454735086792_1185774220_31426233_3298319_n.jpg

this is a field. or was.

jesus. a friend was telling us it was bad up there, guess i didnt realize it was THAT bad.

its even worse today. rain all night, and storming now.
been out all day in it to take pics.
will have more later tonight.

franklin is getting hit hard. and it sucks.

Damn son. Be sure to stay on your toes, you don't want to get flashed while your out in the open or on a bridge. And be sure someone knows where you and your buddies are going every time you go out and give an estimated time frame for when you should be back. That is if its still a mess around there.

uhm... no actually, that didnt even cross our minds.
i have driven over 200 miles in the past two days in area of franklin. which is relatively small. havnt stayed in one place very long.
got a lot of good pics from last night and today. will have them posted tomorrow.

the city of franklin is under a mandatory 6pm curfew. so, we came home around 9pm. wasnt going to waste good daylight.
no issues though.

its very much a mess. shits just crazy. never been in something like this, and the last time the water was this high was in the 1800's.
the columbia river (main river through most of tn, is 50 ft OVER the flood line.
i have pictures from today of the same places above, and the water is much higher.

been a very interesting weekend.

Damn, that's pretty nuts. Kudos on runnin around and getting pics. I actually left east TN 30 minutes before that storm hit us and outran it lol. Got home last night at 3am. Shit was all over the news. Stay safe and be thankful it wasn't your house floating away lol.

So, sat night. me and a buddy waited on the bridge that i take everyday to get into downtown franklin.
a very nice under a mile walk that i enjoy. so i didnt want the bridge to fail.
we waited, and then the road did this:

There used to be a building here. but it decided it was time to move on. It took the interstate, made its own on ramp. took out a couple of cars in its rage, then ended it all at the bridge. he couldnt take it any longer.

thats about it for now. its going to be a good amount of time before things are back to normal.
everywhere is flooded. and the cumberland river (main river through middle tn) is still rising.

Crazy.

Sucks man. Not to be a douche. No one has asked, but......

If it were me. I hope you're doing something and helping sandbag or move people in and out of flooded homes. Because old people need help man. And regardless of your religious beliefs, you could be doing your "citizens"/Good neighbord duty.

From what I've read 15 people have died already.
