im putting a B18a1 into a 90 si hb, im getting some DC headers and an obx cat delete pipe, do i look for an integra cat back system or a civic cat back system? or will neither work and it has to be custom?

I used an OBX-R 2 1/2" stainless catback on my '91 Si hatch and it fits nicely. Did the install myself. Recommend you change the rubber hangers when doing the work. They're cheap and can be found at Pep Boys - around $5 a piece as I recall.

The only headache was at the joint at the right rear where the aft section joins the front part. Getting the bolts with springs aligned to thread into the flange isn't easy. I got one to thread into the flange and drilled the other out and replaced it with a bolt, two nuts and a fender washer against the spring.

The OBX I bought came off of eBay and said it fits 88-91 Civic 3drs. It's a good looking setup. Workmanship and finish is nice. Very good deal for the price. Couldn't tell the size of the final resonator/muffler in the pictures. It's big. With exhaust, in general, big is good.

I bought it as a "Clearance Item" and it didn't come with any hardware. So, I had to buy a gasket for the interface with the cat delete test pipe and the dounut at the aft right rear interface. All can be found at Pep Boys.

System sounds great and comes with a removable baffle assy. Running without baffle right now - until I get caught anyway.

System isn't that loud unless the loud pedal is hammered down pretty far. But, there's always a bubba out there that's got a hard-on for the EF's. I kept the rear section of the old exhaust, so when I get the loud tickets, not if, but when. I figure, I'll just take it to the muffler shop I do business at and have him "reinstall" the modified stock aft section (has glass pack crossover) and write me up a $50 invoice. Keeps him out of trouble. Take pics before and after, and send them and the invoice to the court for dismissal.

Last time I got a loud muffler ticket with the modified stock setup I had the cat replaced (old one was totally burned out) and had the shop put "Excessive noise replaced catalytic converter" on the invoice. Sent in to court and ticket was dismissed. This is in Texas.

Thanks for all the info, but you didn't really answer his question. He's wanting to know if he should buy an exhaust system that goes with his chassis or one that goes with his motor. And the answer is, you should buy an exhaust that goes with your chassis (91 Si hatch). It will most likely bolt right up, but if it does need to be modded a little bit, an exhaust shop should be able to handle it...

Yeah - not directly for sure. Prolly should have read it a couple of times first!

I did say I bought the one that fit my chassis, the model and brand of what I bought, how it fit at install, how it looks and how it sounds. I even mentioned the tickets I haven't even gotten yet!

He needs header to fit motor and catback exhaust system to fit chassis.

Did a couple of edits after I hit the initial submit button. :)
