Hey guys! new to forms, crx's and Alberta but here we go.

I moved here a few months ago and I found a 87 crx si %100 stock.with no more then 230km on it.. guy had it as a daily driver.(just a car) paints worn out and the cars looking a little tired .
I have experience working with honda and I'm all about DIY.. but the rel question.. what do I do with it? clean it or mod it? My goal really is to sell it when I'm done.. I have an 08 Impreza so I'm not looking to get my speed thrill fulfilled just miss turning wrenches.

so what will turn a bigger profit?

Thanks guys cant wait to get started!

If you plan on selling it then cleaning it up and keeping it stock would get you the most out of your sale. With a older model car like that, most people that look to buy them don't want one that's already modified.

+1:thumbsup: i would waaay rather buy one that was unmolested. unless u have a lot of tuner guys around your area. then it might be slightly more apealing to them if it already had an intake and some nice exhaust work done maybe aftermarket wheels. mainly running great and looking the best it can. good luck

Thanks for your input guys! car arrives on Thursday, Ill put pic's up then.

Hey guys.. so heres my new adventure.. so far I've checked under the car, pulled carpets up and checked the wheel wells inside and out.. other then small surface rust its clean and correction.. 168,xxx original km

(not one word about the hood pins.. I've heard it all and I've had the car a week... they brutal, I know! )

much cleaner then I ever thought.. I'm from Ontario.. cars in car lots get rusty lol the truck carpet had some kinda white shit all on it and it socked threw. carpets are out, truck is clean and ready to be re-upholstered.
Ordering parts next week!

Those hood pins are just hideous:p

Its a nice car to start with. Clean it up, there aren't many left.

You can swap it a whole front suspension clip from a 86-89 teg, Just use the 86-87 teg engine/trans and it pretty much drops in and hooks up.. (or you can just pop in a 5spd ecu from the 86/87 for a little upgrade)

Find a 86-87 civic wagon front swaybar (bigger) Then swap on the whole rear brake parts (ends, the whole 'axle' wont work. TOO long for the crx. But can use on the hatch)

Love it. Even the hood-pins (they're worth about 6hp) Just hate red

Just thought I'd add.. this isn't a "low budget build" Thanks 78 civic but I'm not looking to reuse anything (or to find parts) off a 20+ year old car
UNLESS.. they don"t make it. so where would I find a new bigger sway bar??

and are front springs are different from 87 to 89? guys is selling Tein's locally and it would be nice

oo another guy from ontario haha...
btw, i hope you clamp those hood pins tight, wouldn't want the hood to fly off when you hit mach 2 :p

The front has torsion bars not so called 'springs'.
There is a way to pull the bars and tubes, grind out the locking 'teeth' and slightly turning the bar, you can lower it without softening the rebound of the bar.
I have a set of Eibach rear springs for a 1g si that I had in a hatch..?
Since they don't 'share' much at all with any other Honda (except the 1g teg) most anything else will be custom.
Register with Red Pepper Racing and lean from them.

Otherwise do a B swap, bigger brakes, better seats and sell it for a graduation present..
I loved the ones that I had. I'd beat on them and still get 35-40mpg!!
Kids started coming and sold them.
