ok, so my car keeps shakin when i press the brakes. i have replaced the brakes, calipers, rotors and axles. the tires are brand new and the rims im riding on is minty, no bends or nothing. im puzzled as to what can be makin my car shake  one of my buddies told me that maybe my control arm bushings are going bad, somebody else said to check my ball joints. can anybody help and give me an idea as to what the problem may be ?

Well since you replaced all that I dunno, I'd check all your ball joints make sure there is no breaks in the rubber second the control arms are unlikely to cause shakeing like that but I'd check them for missing or cracked and broken rubber, if it only shakes during breaking I wouldn't think it would be an allinement issue

thanks . will do today . u guys think that my rotors are defective? i bought them from autozone. they are duralast. i heard that oem rotors and pads are way better than anything aftermarket

It could be defective rotors... Warped rotors will give you a pulsating feel, which would transfer to the wheel causing the shaking.

-If you can, get them checked out and make sure they're not warped; Considering it would be the easiest fix.

and as for the Stock stuff I have no idea.

yeahhh imma have to do that, the shaking feels intense when i brake from highway speeds. im gonna check the ball joints, tie rods, and bushings even tho i doubt they are causing the problem. the car rides SMOOTH no shaking or goin off to one side while acclerating. the problem hits when its the brakes. i checked if my master cylinder had a leak and it didnt . so now im just really stumped >=[

yeah it does but chances of being defective are slim but shakeing like that is the rotors id change brakes and rotors bad rotors cause uneven brake wear

need some help

this is the first time thati have owned a honda i bought a 1996 civic coupe ex with a b16a 1992-1995 there a lot of aftermarket parts on the car andi need to know is there 1 or 2 o2 sensors on this engine i have been told that the computer is the right one for the engine? the other question was that i have been told that if i put a 1997 gsr ecu in the carthatit will make it so i can pass the obd2 inspection does anyone know if this is true or false? the last questiion isthe car has a studder at low rpms and doesnt feel like the v-tec isnt hitting as hard as it should i have changed the plugs and wires if i change the cap and rotor will it solve my prob or could it be something else causeing this please and thank you.

It sounds like your brakes aren't square to your hubs. I can think of only two things that could cause this. It is possible that your brakes rotors are defective and the brake surface isn't parallel to the hub surface or parallel to each other.

Another possibility is that something is caught between the rotor and the hub, so the rotor isn't seating flat against the hub.

Did you have this problem before you replaced the brakes, or did it show up afterward?

i had this problem before i changed the whole brake setup . i first changed my rotors and brake pads because i started feeling a slight shake when braking . then after that it still was shaking . i found out that i had a leak in my calipers . and so i changed that and properly bled the brake system . i checked to see if there were any leaks in my brake lines or from the master cylinder itself and that test came out negative . so now im stumped. is there any chance that my hubs are bent or something ?

and are the two screws that pin the rotor against the hub a neccesity? is that what is causing the shaking ? because i don't have the screws on my rotors ....

nope, don't need them. only purpose they had was to hold the rotor in place during original vehicle assembly

Can't be your hubs your car would shake with out breaking as well I would take the rotors back or get them turned (resurfaced)
