Hey guys I stumbled across this site when I was looking on honda-tech for swap information..I cant find any specific information, due to me failing @ searching most likely..

So right now i currently have a 1997 civic HX coupe 5 speed and ive been eyeballing a B16, which is in a 1989 CRX at the moment.

I really have been reading a ton of information last few nights.. but i still feel like i have figured out none of my questions!

What all for parts do i need?
-Motor mounts
-ECU ??
- Wiring harness ??
- Cable to hydro trans conversion??
- Exhaust & header all fit to stock exhaust? ( i want it to look stock on the outside )
- any other parts/ odds and ends im not even aware that i need

I dont need to worry about tools, i just need to get all the parts required. My friend is going to be doing a lot of the work, And i dont want to hog a spot in his garage while we wait for parts!

And what was the point of this? Looks like post whoring to me, so please knock it off.

To the OP, have you tried researching our reference section yet? I can't remember if there's an EK swap article or not, but you might want to check.

Anyway, I'll attempt to answer your questions...

Mounts - Yes, you'll need a set of mounts. If you want to go the stock route, Civic Si mounts will work. Or you can get an after-market kit.

ECU - It depends on how you want to go about this. Your car is wired for OBD2. I'm not sure what the engine is wired for. Look into it, and then we can answer you better.

Wiring Harness - Same as above.

Trans Conversion - Yes, you'll need a converter of some kind (assuming that the transmission is cable). Your other alternative is to sell the cable trans and pick up a a hydrolic one. This might be your best option actually, since your car is already set up for hydrolic.

Exhaust & Header - Pretty sure they'll bolt up, but if not, an exhaust shop can fix it easily.

I think that's about it. One thing to consider though, in most places it's illegal to put an older engine into a newer car. If you were to search around and find a newer engine, the install would be easier and you'd be legal (and you'd have a newer and probably lesser mileage engine).

Just something to think about...

im new here and i don't understand how to post a new question....
HELP?

Go into the forum where you'd like to post your question. At the top left of the threads list you should see a button called "New Thread". Click that, and from there it should be self-explanatory...
