Yeah I am pretty sure I would rock it too. And by pretty sure I mean that I would. The thing was built to be aerodynamic in every way. That would be a pretty slick drag car.

There's actually two(or was two?) of them, Clutchmasters had a black Honda Insight for a while.

its a sick car but its pointless in my eyes. i woulda chosen an RSX or a TL. a TL woulda been really crazy. i just dont think this was very practical.

i know of shepard racing, jon owns (i think) the fastest street talon IIRC? and AMS well if you dont know who they are.. youre probably blind

about the insight: im not sure what to think of the front end, but it is a purpose build race car, and im sure it serves its purpose well lol

@da16killer:
whats wrong with that platform? the car was designed to be a hybrid.. its lightweight and small.. the only thing really missing to turn it into a drag car is power, traction, and aerodynamics (all taken care of in said car).

Matt summed it up pretty well. Its actually one of the most practical ways of getting a fast Honda drag car. I remember reading an article about Bisi's build several years ago. It makes perfect sense to me.

im just not a fan. i hate insights anyway. but its a sick car ill give it that. i just think that was alot of work. i would have just spent my time on something else

Maybe a lot of work on the S2000 front end, but it's still a great platform. I'd say you'd spend about as much time as any other car given the nature of this race car. IIRC, A stock 1g Insight weighs less than any of the 2G CRXs. Plus, the K20 and even F22 fits in there nicely.

The Insight is perfect for this; the car is light and the body is already pretty damn aerodynamic. I must say though, the front end kills it for me; I'd imagine the narrower S2000 front may help for aero but the slicks sticking out doesn't.

You are completely missing the point of the car. It's a drag car. The RSX and TL are bloated pigs compared to the Insight.

looks interesting
def designed to be a drag car

i'm currently in the market for an insight and they sure do hold their value
anyone know much about the mileage on the electric aspects of the vehicle?
most of the 1g insights have 150k plus miles
i wouldnt mind getting one and throwing a D16 in it or something like that

I wouldn't mind doing that either, a D15Z1 would be awesome in a Insight; though don't know if it'll get better MPG than the stock setup. I've been looking for 1g Insights for a while; they are hard as hell to come by.
