So after about 20k miles my tires have 3/32 thread left, and if you recall i had fell alseep at the wheel and smacked my car into the bridge damaging my rims. Lately my right passenger tire has had a slow leak so i finally rbough it to town fair,

turns out my rims are slighly bent and they said it could be why my tires wore out so fast. Town Fair wanted $1400 for Nexen N3000 and the Same 5 spoke Audi rims i have now.

1So long story short

Audi RS4 Replica's with Nexen N3000 all season tires $1018 shipped off the net and I will just put them on myself.

Hopefully this solves why my tires wore out after only 20k on them and will also solved the shaking of my car at higher speeds

was that price for 4 new rims? or just the bent one/ones?
where's a pic of the 5 spoke wheel for comparison?

did you get the car aligned after you smacked it up?
bent or off balance rims will def cause a shaking

but so will a seized or stuck caliper when it gets your rotor cherry red and the steering wheel goes wop wop wop

Those are technically Ultrasport wheels, and I really like them. Make sure you get it aligned afterwards though - but at a reputable repair shop, NOT Town Fair. Never heard anything bad about the Nexens, but then again they aren't Dunlops or Falkens either.

That was for the 4 rims, 4 tires expressed shipped. I will get an Alignment after i put them on by the Audi Dealership

i have nexens on my dakota. for a no-namer, they are decent tires. going on 3 years now on my truck, and they are still like new, and have good dry and wet and snow traction, so i can't complain.

That said, 20k isn't drastically under what you should expect to get out of a set of sport tires on a sport car.

Well I was told my current ones were rated for about 40k and they were brand new when i got the car 11/2008. So its been 1.5 years and they arealmost legally bald. 70% of my driving is from Cromwell to Windsor on the high way. They were rotated 4 times during that period(about every 5k).

I hope between a better tire and unbent rims i can get at least 40k from the new ones. I plan on keeping this car for along time(only 44k miles on it) so that's the only reason i went with getting new rims to keep it running right and balanced.

The bent wheel = def. responsible for high speed vibration

you can definitely tell the age of some members on here (myself included)
when they start complaining about not getting the advertised mileage out of tires, instead of burning through inside tread from camber issues and just replacing the tires every couple months

i dont think you should buy new ones i think you just need to find someone that does wheel repair and they fix it like new. it shouldnt cost that much maybe around $100 per wheel.
