Last night around 6:30 I'd went out to have a cigarette, well my cousins jack russel (named Ginger) and my two tabs like to go out on the porch with me.
As I'm trying to shut the door my cousins stupid fucking dog takes off again across the yard to the people next door edging the sidewalk.
This attracts the attention of this same neighbors pit bull (I think he's a pit, but not sure). He's always been a really great dog, he lets you pet him and he's never growled at any of us.
Last night was different, he trots over because of my cousins dog onto my driveway and spots the cats on the porch and bee lines straight for them.
I didn't realize it as I was going after Ginger. I look back and Sonatra (neighbors dog) is up on the porch going after Sammy. I see the poor cat leap from the floor to about 15 feet in the air, bounce off the window and come down behind Sonatra. At that point, Eddie takes off into the front yard by my sidewalk and then jets around the side of the house along with Sammy.
I say fuck Ginger, and go after Eddie, I end up chasing him to my neighbors front door on the other side and grab him, walk him back to my house and lock him in the house. Walking by the tree at my porch, I spot sammy sitting there scared shitless.
In hindsight I should have gone after Sammy first, he's slower, and less aggressive along with not having a very loud meow. He is barely audible even if you're standing right next to him. Eddie on the other hand is really loud and you can hear him from anywhere in the house if he can't find me. If I'd gone after Sammy, I could have gotten him in and if I lost Eddie, he would make it apparent that he was on the porch trying to get in.
At this point my neighbor had grabbed Sonatra and put him inside, and when I turned around and went back to where I last saw Sammy, he's not there. He's nowhere, I canvased about a 1/4 mile of my house and talked to several different neighbors I never talked to before, even went through a few gardens, asked the people behind me if I could look in their garage, etc.
By 9:45 it'd gotten dark and I couldn't see anymore so I had to go inside.
I slept, for the most part, on my chair last night after putting some food and water out on the porch. I still don't know where he's at, it's been 14 hours. This fucking sucks.
