I know you see this a lot, also know that the H22a is the most recommended motor for this car. But i am an different person i like to try somethings that most other people will not go near.
So here it is. I have a 92 Honda Accord everything stock, over 200K miles on the F22 engine and i'm looking into tuning it out. I will spend what i need to spend to get it running as fast as that can go. As i said the H22a is a great choice for it. Don't care for the b-series, k-series, or c-series. But there is one i can't find any one talking about for a swap for the accord. and that's the G32a out of the Vigor. I really want to know if this might be a possibility since the Vigor chassis was the same Accord chassis. Im open for all thoughts and opinions on this. If you see any pros or cans to it let me know.

Well the B-series would be a whole bunch of hassle for little benefit anyway, so that one is definitely off the table. Same for the C-series. The K-series is now pretty easily possible and definitely has potential.

I really haven't heard much about using the G-series from the Vigor, but it sounds like an interesting possibility...

since i don't plan on sailing it. I do plane on putting money into it. I want it fast like crazy fast. what ever engine i decide to go with i will turbo it. I already have a daily driver i'm not going to do tune out and its only a little old. So i have my accord to tune out to my hearts content.

your best best would be to just fully build the f22 in there. rebuild the block for boost and turbo it. i think someone on here has a turbo F22 pushing 400hp.

have you ever driven a honda with 300hp? is this going to be a track only car?

So what potential does the k-series over the h-series, for the h-series it seems you get more horsepower and torque out of than the k-series.

As i was looking around digging for info i found that vigor info and engine on wiki. I thought it would be interesting as well to try that out. I was looking to see if any one had maybe done it. And if they did how did it work for them?

I still want it street legal with the ridiculousness amount of power. I have driven a honda with more than 300hp. My buddy has a 93civic with a fully built motor and turbo put on it.

The K-series has TONS of potential. It responds to mods much better then any of the older popular Honda 4 cylinders (B16, B18, H22, etc.).

The H22 is great for a bolt-it-in-and-go type of upgrade, but for tuning purposes, it's really not that great. In order to hold a decent amount of boost it needs to be rebuilt (the sleeves are made of a fiber metal composite which is great for weight reduction but is not as strong as standard iron sleeves). It responds decently well to bolt-ons and N/A tuning, but the K-series engines do better.

I've seen K20s and K24s put out 250 horses on a dyno with just bolt-ons, cams, and tuning. No B-series or H-series motor is going to do that. They respond well to turbo-charging also...

That gives me something to think about doing. I'll look more into the K-series motors.

Also my car is an automatic at the moment. How easy is would it be to convert it to a standard, or should i just keep stick with the automatic?

okay my buddy was talking to me about the k-series engines and i think I'm nearly convinced to go with it. but i need low compression so i can turbo it and from what i was finding most of them have high compression. Which of the k-series should i go with or could i just tune the engine properly and get low compression out of it.

Because of the way in which the engine sits in the bay, I HIGHLY doubt you could turbo it. If you cram that G32 in there you'd be ruling out the turbo option. Google K20/K24 Accord- not many people have put them in the older Accords, it will be unique (and difficult, but doable) and there is an aftermarket for it, unlike the G32. YOu will easily find a header or turbo kit, possibly supercharger kits, cams, injectors, clutches, intake manifolds, whatever you need to turn it into the race car you're after. Plus, the K's are much simpler in their layout, meaning Honda really reduced the complexity of the components. No timing belt, huge number of vacuum lines everywhere, idle controls, drive belts are consolidated to one instead of two or three, etc etc. After you did a K swap, you'd be glad you didn't do a G swap.

I just recently watched that video. and the others he has for that with the k-series swap. I saw the turbo. and then how much room he has in it to put a turbo. no doubt its a sweet ride. alright thanks guys if in run into any more questions i will post some more. I think i will be going with the K-series

You don't necessarily NEED low compression to add a turbo. The lower the compression, the sloppier you can be with the tune. If you're boosting on high compression, then your tune needs to be very precise.

If you feel that you do need to lower the compression though, then you'll need after-market internals (pistons, etc.) for the engine. As for which one to go with, the RSX Type S or 06+ Civic Si engines are a good bet (the K20A2 or K20Z). The TSX engine is a good choice as well (K24A4 I believe?)...

I'm able to find some good deals on some engines and a friend of mine told me about looking into clips. I noticed I can save like 3k dollars doing this. But I'm not sure about ordering these things off the internet. I'm more of a person to person kind of guy when purchasing things. I don't want to get ripped off if you know what I mean.

So my question would be do you know of any reliable site to go to. I can talk to my buddies to see if i can find something locally. But if it comes to it. I might have to get something off a site.

AS far as precision tuning goes I've got some to go to for that. He might be the same guy I'll have to go to for the engine. I just haven't been able to get a hold of him since he is out of state.
