Ok, so Im gettin to a point with my Z28 where its not cuttin it for a DD anymore. So Ive decided on a EF Sedan as my next purchase. Need the 4 doors for a car seat (even though a hatch would still be ok), like the way they look with roof racks (to put my bike on, or a cargo box for campin gear), in general theyre just one of the 4 door cars I like. If I can find a decent one, close to stock, I dont have any wild plans for it. Maybe a mini-me, maybe a low cost Vitara build.

So with all that being said, what are some things to look for when Im lookin at em. As in, what kinda things (aside the obvious) should I avoid? Where do they rust? Any common electrical bugs? Places that are prone to leak in rain?

What do I need to be aware of?

Depending on the age of your 'youngins' you'll need room for a stroller too.

Ever think of a 90-93 teg 4dr? Then you could do a f22 swap.
Or a Accord wagon, do a legend 5-lug swap and turbo it..

I've seen one around here that looks real clean and although it's not turbo, moves pretty well.

Well, we got a small stroller specificaly (SP?) for saving room, and an EF sedan would have more than enough room for it. I already have a mint 86 Accord hatch back, but the ole lady just took a job with a nasty commute so now I need a "family car."

Little did I know, Tegs in my area are made outa solid gold. So, theyre outa the question.

After thinkin about it for a week, a 90 5 speed 4 door Civic with a T3'd mini-me would make a bad ass DD. Im talkin 250 horse max, in a completely clean sedan. It would be neat. Lol.

I LOVE the look of the 86-87 hatchs! What about looking into a Prelude DOHC headswap for it?
Man, it's been a loooonnng time ago, but I think that it was done back in the day.. You may have to mess with the intake some, but it's worth looking into.

If I woulda found a hatch instead of this civ 4dr, I probably would be driving that.

The only problems i've ever had with rain in my ef's is the taillights fill up with water and leak into the trunk and in my one hatch the rain leaked into the front passenger side where the ecu sat. So if your looking at any look in the trunk and pull up the carpet and check there for rust and maybe see if there are any water stains on the front pass. side carpet. There is always the usual fender well rust too.

Ive thought about it, but I just let the GF use it for kickin around and what not. She doesnt beat on it, but its got some signs of a girl drivin it lol. Ill prally just keep it around until its ready to go the way of Ole Yeller.

Gotcha, thanks.

Buy mine. 88LX with everything working great (no power steering, pulley didn't match up, forgot to change it), AC converted to R134a, SOHC ZC swap (wired for MPFI already), KYB shocks, 3rd owner but had it (and maintained it) the last 8+ years, minor front end damage that has to be fixed, but that's the only thing wrong with it.

Just wondering, why this particular combo? An F/H-series into a 90-93 Integra isn't exactly the easiest swap out there. Might as well just put an F or H into the Civic instead...
