Whats happenign people yaw check this out i want to start a topic about force induction on a b18a1. What do you guys feel or think. Do you think it could do 300whp on stock parts just the turbo kit and super AFC chip computer, or do you think you need more then that.
Lets make this post one of the best ones out there with good info base on secure data.

or you know what lets talk about both because right now im not 100% sure wich one will go on my crx so will like to make and educate decision on it.

the b18a1 and b18b1 are fairly close.
no, 300whp on a safc is not going to be safe, nor reliable, and you probably won't get the car there with just an safc.
youll need a chipped ecu, and a real tune.

ive seen a few cars do 300whp on stock internal LS's, but there's no guarantee on how long it'll last.

basically, there are too many variables here to answer your question completely, the question is just too vague. however, i can tell you that itll take more than a vafc/safc for a tune to get there.

Yeah, the V-AFC and SAFC devices work already for a quick tune on basically stock engines with bolt-ons, but they are NOT sufficient for tuning forced-induction setups. These devices are what we call "piggybacks", meaning that you're not actually reprogramming your ECU with them. They tap into your wiring and alter signals to fool your ECU into altering it's settings. Like I said, that's okay for a stock engine that you'd like to try and get a few more horses out of, but it's definitely NOT recommended for tuning a turbo...

Again, I was expecting some flamming, but you guys are just too nice these days.

also, there are PLENTY of threads out there already with proven data. my build thread is one, and theres a megathread on H-T dedicated to just LS turbo setups and dyno sheets

Whats is your thread if you dont mind me asking bro and in what engine are runnig it

a lot of people in other forums are telling me to go with the engine that i have in the crx now is d16y8 and put arround $3000.00 that i have in maind to expend and i should get to 250whp or more. and that way i dont have to spend all the money on mounts, linkage, axles, and a whole new engine for a B swap. plus everything else i have to do to get the B on the 250whp

plenty of b-series runnin around on 250+whp, hell some even on more than that

but yeah, the d is already in there and you might as well boost it

i was just answering the question at hand

why dont more people swap in f22's they are fairly strong good torq and hp and they do come from a bigger car so why not swapthese? i know there maybe people who do this but every one seems to chase for b series. is it a vtec thing or what?

Because it's not a bolt-in swap. Swapping an F22 into a Civic is like swapping an H22 into a Civic. You need a mount kit, you need to put some dents in the engine bay, you need to either modify the shifter tunnel to make the F-series tranny work or buy an expensive adaptor plate to use a D-series tranny. Is it really worth it for a little extra torque when B-series engines are capable of big numbers on boost and are bolt-in swaps?

We are now ambassadors of this forum, so it's our job to be cordial. Sorry to dissapoint!

Don't worry though, if any unruly noobs get out of hand, you'll see the old Brutal come back out... :D

oh but that is with a turbo. and turbo's do lag some times. id rather have straight up power and a little boost to go with it. not that im going to boost my f22 i am soon going to buy a h22 and build it up while it sits in my basement untill the day i have every thing and then drop that mother in. in hopefully less than 3 days
