WASHINGTON, June 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In 1970, nine percent of California's population was comprised of immigrants; by 2008 it was 27 percent. A new report from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) finds that as a result of immigration, California now has the least-educated labor force of any state. Historically, California was not a state with a disproportionately large unskilled population, like Appalachia or parts of the South. However, immigration has transformed the state. Absent a change in immigration policy, other parts of the country may be transformed in a similar fashion.

It doesn't surprise me, really. The schools here are shit now, even at the community college and state university level. The fact that the state takes $$ from the schools to the point that students can't get the classes needed to be able to graduate is pretty fucking ridiculous. It's even more worrisome that this eBay whore might be running the state soon.

i seriously wish california would just slide off into the pacific. about the only good thing they have going is high grade pot.

You mean the one that skillfully crafted an extremely profitable multi-billion dollar online auction site, pioneering an entire new genre of commerce?

I think she has her head on pretty fucking straight. Much more so than a guy who spent his entire career getting jacked, juicing, and acting in B movies (Disclaimer: I love Arnold, steroids, Terminator, bodybuilding, etc. Just not as qualifications for political office.)

Oh ok. This is coming from the guy that lives in Florida, which is just West Virginia - mountains + ocean...There are a LOT of great things about California. Why do you think so many non-illegal people still choose to live here? Why do you think houses are still so expensive? Location.

They've got some nice beaches too. Good dunes. Some awesome canyon runs. They have a few awesome tracks too. Just because they suck a big one doesn't that California is all bad.
 
i happen to love the swamps of florida, but i like the coast even more. i love florida, and ive never really left the south and dont have any desire to, where i live here in palm beach is pretty damn nice :)

and yes im sure cali has its upsides, but the liberal douchiness that oozes from it makes me angry. sorry.
 
dont bash a place til you have been there. what you think you know about a place and what a place really is, are two completely different things.
 
Don't forget we have Tahoe with some great skiing for the winters too. This is the best place to live (sans politics) in the US.

Ironically, California is not nearly as liberal as people think it is. Gay marriage was voted down, by popular vote, TWICE!

If left to a congressional vote, it would have been passed with flying colors.

The difference lies between what the populous wants and what the outspoken cunt monkeys think they want or choose to represent themselves as.
