Welcome to the world of Droid..... last year.

And WebOS as well. Didnt redsnow come out with an OS4 jailbreak already?

Tm, I'm confused. You installed OS4 and then restored back to 3.x now you're back on 4? I'm confused on what you actually did lol. You can tether with os4 for free?

no, i upgraded to 4 but due to my jailbreak i couldnt go online, so i had to restore to OEM using itunes, which left me at 4 with nothing, then i restored from backup which gave me back everything but my jailbreak + jb apps.

Tethering is another $20 on top of your data. Ghey. And in order to do so you have to drop your unlimited plan and do the $25 2GB plan. And tethering is only USB.

Sorry. Not giving up my unlimited plan. If I want to tether, I'll jailbreak and use the mywi app to turn the phone into a wireless access point.

I think that if you ever want to upgrade, you'll be forced into that other data plan when the contract changes. I think it was on Consumerist where I read that.

As far as iOS4, I'm waiting until there is a solid, easy jailbreak for it for the 3g. So far the only one out, form what I was reading last night, doesn't work on the 3g.

I have read on Engadget that some folks are having issues when they update as well. Contacts being wiped out and things of that nature. So be sure to back up before you take the leap.

only consumer plans, not business/enterprise will suffer the lack of unlimited :)

Well consumers can't get those plans. And they are probably more expensive anyway. It negates the point. I have unlimited now for at least the next year and a half. But I really only use 500MB/month anyway. But that would go up if I tether. I'd like to do the JB and get the MyWi app

I never thought that I would use tethering that much. But once I cracked my Pre and MyTether was developed I use it all the time. If I am at a friends house, on travel, at work in some cases etc.

Mine seems to be running flawlessly...and like Chris said, its much quicker

The future of cellphones is looking up, the new Droid comes with an HDMI port this would allow you to stream netflix or other movie services to your phone and then watch them on a HD TV at a hotel or anywhere else you take your phone.

As of right now 500mb or less a month seems to be the normal data usage

I bet in 2-3 years its well over the 2GB mark for even some of the more basic users. I can't wait to have the option to watch NFL games when I'm stuck somewhere I dont want to be on the weekends...

Too bad it sounds like everyone is going to put a cap on their service in the near future.
