weird knocking noise

i have a d16z6 and im getting a knocking noise from my alternator its only when you rev the engine to about 1500-2000 and when driving when the cars idling it doesnt make the sound and if you hold the alternator and pull it stops making the sound. what could be causing this?

my guess is ur alt.bearing maybe going out.

take the alternator belt off
go through that idle and rev range
see if the problem goes away
replace the alternator

OR your lower bolt could have loosened and backed out/off. and just the top bolt holding it on..
Is your batt light on?
Is it too hot to touch? (the alt that is)

i have a similar problem,sounds like a weird squeeking on mine.It is constant at idle and is fairly loud.

sounds like your bearing has went out in your altenator. usually will have a idle irritating noise like that but quiet down when above idle...

im driving this months like it and it hasn't give me any trouble yet.Just annoying when your at idle with people walking by.Sound like 2 birds f**king lol

my battery light isnt on and it not too hot ill check my bottem bolt
