Ok, so I download a bunch of programs for photo editing and what not, try em out, then remove em if I dont like em. My question is, is there anything else I should be doin with each unistall to make sure I dont have a bunch of useless files filling up my hard drive? I always use the uninstall wizard, but I dont know enough to know rather or not I should be doin anything else. My hard drive is 0% fragmented if that makes a difference. I havent noticed any performance decrease, Id just like to keep it that way. Thanks again.

Alrighty, Ill hit up google real quick lol.

What exactly does it do? Just look for files that dont belong to anything?

thats one of the many things it does .... its a good little utility

theres no such thing as a "registry defrag". thats BS. but ccleaner is a cool little tool. it basically cleans out temp files, cookies, temp internet files, etc.

also you can do the same thing with Disk Cleanup, which is built in to Windows 7, Vista, and XP. really no need for extra software.

I don't use them (lots of friends do) but you can get programs that track EVERYTHING an installer package is doing so that you can back it out 100% of the way later. Quite a few of them are freeware. You should grab one and use it.

After I used the cclean I noticed it was pretty similar to the disk cleanup tool in Windows 7. It did have some other options that Windows didnt though, so Ill keep it around for now lol.

no shit its not a registry defrag, but it ties up alot of the loose ends in there and compacts it.

just the easiest way way of explaining it to the noob user.
