post 'em up

here's how i rate mine:

-pedal feel >> narrow thin soles better
-heel and toe >> wider heel narrower toe better

what about favs by auto-sport sub-type? e.g.:

-drag strip shoes?
-drifting kicks?
-street racing sneaks?

how about the most ludicrous driving / racing shoes ever?

to prime the pump, here are a few i like, i'll post my personal favs later when i get my dang camera working

sfi rating

those make sense, i've been looking at similar ones, good ankle support for fast pedal maneuvering when "foot flex" from hitting the pedal at an angle makes foot roll off pedal edge and can cause the driver to inadvertently dump the clutch, or under rev, or not get on top of the brake pedal exactly right and have to scrub off speed by downshifting, when a quick well-timed tap of the brake would have been optimal for a particular curve

took a look over at the SFI site and i was surprised to see that adidas, dc (!), new balance, and puma all have shoes that conform to SFI 3.3/5 specs. i never associated some of those makes (nb??) with serious racing shoes.

size 14 since 6th grade, they called me...

Godzilla feet - :D

tribute to my other favorite honda...

Ishirō Honda (1911-1993)

best known for his tokusatsu ("special effects") films including several entries in the Godzilla series. He directed the original Godzilla along with King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962), Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), All Monsters Attack (1969) and many others until 1975. He also directed such tokusatsu films such as Rodan and Mothra. His last feature film was Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975)

::cue godzilla wail here::

in the second pic g-zilla looks like he's getting sized for a pair of shoes..."worry not little man, i shall not crush you" zilla's all about peace n love, he's just misunderstood^_^

I'm weird.... i prefer a big shoe... like my sketchers. I don't heal-toe.. could never do it smothly. I big toe/ little toe with a straight foot ankle bend.

SFI 3.3/5 rated and all-around good shoes for driving. Function over form.
I have the exact same shoes! :) They feel like bedroom slippers.

I also have a set of Puma Speedcats which have no SFI rating so are not really good for racing; just track days really.

I really enjoy those pyroteck shoes, you're absolutely right. They feel like form-fitting slippers with cardboard/rubber soles.

Did you get yours from the "really cheap racing junk" store, or did you have them already?

really cheap racing junk. :) Got them with the whole package. Sold the helmet though since I already had one. Selling the helmet paid for more than half that package.. lol

I wish I would have bought the helmet package. I didn't know the helmet was DOT until the day of the race.

Kelsodeez,
Whats with the bammer? I thought you were from CA. lol
haha well, thats not my picture. and i wouldnt put my stash into some smelly ass shoes. and i dont wear timberlands haha.
