Pulling code on AP1.

We already had the matenance light on but the check engine light came on today on our 2002 S2000. Any way to get codes without a reader on this one?

They're not up here. I read there's a little plug you jump, I'll look for it.

pretty sure the plug jumping is just for OBD-1 cars

OBD-2 you need to hook up to a scanner as far as i know

I jumped a '99 EK once.

I tightned the gas cap and reset the ECU and the light stayed off for 5 minutes.

My guess is O2 but I'll get it scanned. Thanks guys.

IIRC none of the newer model cars have the jumper connector you're looking for(in other words 01 Integra and 00 Civic were the last to have this).

Yep, couldn't find it. It still runs and drives great...weird.

most parts store chains will check your codes for free... at least they do in the US im not sure about up in Canadia...

if we are making bets on this... im gunna go with: its a code from your secondary O2 reporting catalyst below efficiency (ie: your cat is shot)... or possibly the O2 pre-heater is not working... but leaning more toward the cat

There is a way to jumper the ECU to show blocks of codes that are all related- it's on s2ki somewhere. I found it before- let me see if I can dig it up again.

just when there is a code that doesnt really seem to effect anything those two are what come to mind

I see. On the code reader it said "Bank 1 Sensor 2" or something.
