obd1block in obd 2 car

ok i am doing this for a frend he has a 99 civic d series and spun a bearing i have a z6 obd1 block i am going to give him to get him back rolling what will i have to do as far as knock sensor and anthing eles i am keeping everything eles and just doing a block swap ant help thanks

I believe you just hafta drill and tap the block for the knock sensor. Im not positive though.

yep you need to attach that knock sensor one way or another.

another problem is the z6 does not have a crankshaft fluctuation sensor (ckf). luckily it's not too difficult to bypass .:FFS TechNet:. ECU & WIRING How-To Articles CKF Bypass Trick

aside from that just retain the y8 intake manifold and you should be golden lol.

cool deal i will try this and see ho t goes o what if i just get a obd1 p28 and a obd2a to obd1 harrneswill this soleve all the problems ?

its obd2b to obd1 but yes it will. it's exactly what i did when i installed a z6 in my 96. decided it just wasnt worth the hassle of staying obd2 when i also knew i'd need tuning capabilities in the future.

We did the same to my boys ek with no problem u just gotta wire up the knock sensor

just put it in convert car to obdo1with no prob
