ebay gauges.

As some of you may or may not remember I bought some sunpro gauges at autozone the other day and found out that universal doesn't mean universal, nothing fit and it sucked.
But that had me thinking, I remember seeing gauges on ebay, I think they were jdm sport or something like that. they pretty much only had water temp, vacuum, vac/boost, and I'm assuming it's a narrow band o2 sensor but I could be wrong. And I thought hey, I'm doing a project ebay build anyway why not try.

if anyone has bought these before let me know how they are and if they work. I've been looking and I can't find any kind of review

thanks
Bob

i dont think i understand universal and fitment... the sunpro gauges come in a bunch of different sizes, if they dont fit your requirements get something else lol

yeah even the smallest fitting was to big and even when I went out and bought the right size it wasn't the right pitch or whatever

well I personally know more people that have had better luck then bad luck with ebay. as of now, everything I have on my car is ebay, header, high flow cat, cat back exhaust, intake, strut bars, and they have been great for about a year now.
And I know people think the same way as you do but how many catastrophic fails have you had using ebay?

Well, none of the stuff you listed will cause a catastrophic failure, but Ive seen enough broken ebay shit to stay away lol.

With gauges, if you want accuracy your gunna need to spend money. If you just want a general idea of whats goin on then, by all means the ebay gauges will prally work great for you.

well I not saying that the stuff I have would cause failure but so many people down ebay without first trying the product. Like the most common thing, the turbos. My friend has an ebay turbo that he has had for over 3 years at 15 psi and it's still good.
All I want to do is prove that ebay is better then people give it credit for

A bunch of piping and metal bars copied from other companies will not fail. There are no moving parts on those things mentioned above that could even break and cause damage to the motor.

All I want to do is prove that ebay is better then people give it credit for

Good Luck.

i also have a small myriad of proven performance adders from ebay with no issues.

buying a name brand on ebay and buying generic ebay stuff is different. what did he buy?

do you know what i.c.e is? in car lingo, it's "in car entertainment". i don't know any strong builds that have many, if any gauges other than speedo and tach. boost, air/fuel, volts, etc. it's all worthless shit. most of that stuff is handled through a tuning program and doesn't really need to be monitored after a tune.

i have too...intakes, headers, etc. but i would NEVER use a generic turbo kit, cams, or internal components. i'll spend the money and get legit stuff.

it's just a regular ebay knock off turbo, doesn't leak any oil, no bad seals or anything.

the only reason why I wanted gauges was for actual use, my temp gauge in my cluster doesn't work right because my speedo cable isn't grounded properly and I just want to know if my car is going to over heat or if it's running how it's supposed to.

I'm not one of those people that would throw a volt gauge because I'm sure you would know if your alternator died. I'm not going to get a vacuum gauge because there is no reason.

I only like to have things have a purpose not just for show

actually his turbo has outlasted most of his cars

Havin gauges that monitor things that ECU also watches isnt anythign to frown on. Just cuz the tune is good doesnt mean the engine is. And with gauges you can help spot shit before it hits the fan, and not be stuck lookin at data logs (if your lucky enough to be logging at the time) to figure out what happened.

Did you ever find the gauges you were lookin for or what?

yeah I found them, never found any reviews, so I'm going to save up after I do my swap and just get those glowshift ones. I've heard nothing but good things about them

I have some glowshift gauges and they work fine.
