alright guys i have a jdm b18c, i need to replace the timing belt, water pump, gaskets/seals, the works

problem is that the few people that i have asked (autozone/pepboys) about integra parts they always say that all of the parts for the integra for 1998 are the same:confused:

thing is im am not completely sure what timing belt i need or the other parts that i need for my b18c............dealer is not an option on this one for me,,,

id rather buy online

anyone have any possible places that they have purchased from before, a timing belt kit or maybe timing belt/parts

any help appreciated, i just want to make sure that i buy the right parts and use the right part numbers...havent taken the belt off yet since its my daily so im not sure

Honda Parts Unlimited

I have bought quite a few parts from them (ITR valve Springs to gasket kits to interior parts) They are one of the cheapest online and got my stuff to me in a reasonable amount of time.

And the Auto Zone boys are smoking crack! lol j/k But a 98 (or any integra part for that matter) has a variety of similar AND different parts. B18C will have quite a few different parts than a B18B

thanks,, i checked but they dont seem to have a kit available

if i could get a part number on that belt then so.....im going to have to start by removing the valve cover, & upper maybe il be able to see the belt #

also would ebay be good to get a crank pulley tool to hold the crank in place while i break the bolt....i dont want to use the flywheel to hold it

They DO have a kit. Call them. It would be a friggin anomaly if they didn't have a timing belt and/or water pump for your car. They DO have a valve cover kit.....I just bought one when I put CTR cams/ITR valve springs/New style OEM LMA's, etc

The crank holding tool is cool (ther's two types......pre'90 and post'90....I think) but I didn't have time to wait so I used a nut that fit the opening and held it on with a pipe wrench while my friend put the 19mm socket through the nut hole and to the crank bolt. It broke loose very easy by that point.

now that you mention it...i do have an old welder,, il try my skills

well i opened up the engine and took off the upper cover i got this part # off the belt 4400-P72-004 ( & 126RU26) which i believe is the usdm b18c5 belt or gsr but idk im researching it..... so ill go off that if i can figure it out

thanks

p.s. i agree on you with the crack smoking going on at autozone....at least the one here in my town

I think the nut you can buy measures 1-15/16 nut.....measure your crank. I had to grind a 2" down a little but got another one for a friend at 1-15/16 and he said it fit perfect

P72 in the part # means it will fit your GSR for sure.

From my research....your part number if off one digit

98 Integra GSR timing belt for Hondapartsunlimited

(hope the link directs you straight to it) this is the part # I came up with
98 GSR 14400-P72-014 (#13 in the diagram/price list) Less than $40 OEM
Auto parts store: Honda Parts | Acura Parts | OEM Parts

And here's the link for a 98 Integra GSR water pump/etc (I'd purchase #1 and #16) less that $80 total for OEM)

if this helps at all you can count the teeth on the belt the is a difference dont remember how many teeth difference but gsr ls bel are different
