Your question is REALLY vague.

1. How much power do you want?
2. How much money do you have to spend?
3. What kind of power curve do you want?

So power just around 250hp not that much so doing it bottom part first
Money around $2K for the bottom or less.
power curve hmmm will run on quarter around high 13's or 14 I'm good

inputs please:)
thanks

have you ever driven a 250hp Honda? 200 whp is plenty of power for these light cars

did 400hp on a sedan Civic on a turbo B20. I just want a N/A
turbo is taking too much space in the engine bay
and I'm doing it by myself while my b16 is still running.

So what kind of b20 block will fit good on my b16 head?
what kind of timing belt should I use? water pump?
what kind of high comp pistons should be used that I will not bore or bring the block to the machine shop? like a bolt on stuff.

inputs please

thanks

250whp is a lot for all motor, it will have to be a serious build. you can use a b20b or b20z block, it doesnt matter since you are building it. you will be looking for a CR of 12-12.5:1 (higher if on race gas or e85), some big cams and a built head, along with the best boltons will be necessary. use oil pump, water pump, timing belt for a vtec engine.

I have a b20b with a b16 head. Few things to know. Buy the pistons for a b20/b16 swap, this way you make sure your compression is exactly what you want it to be! You'll need the kit to feed your Vtec on the head (golden eagle sells this kit) this kit comes with the oils line, sandwich plate and rowel pins so that the B20 and the b16 can live in harmony!! Lol!. A small mod is needed to feed oil to the vtec solenoid.

I'm running 10.5.1 pistons, 10 thousand off the head deck, eagle rods, skunk2 pro series stage 2 cams as well as intake manifold, RC injectors with walbro pump, Gsr timing belt and water pump (22teeth) and currently pushed 220whp at 8400! You won't need to turn an higher since the bottom end will give you plenty torque! Less rpm, more power and torque, lnger engine life!!! ;-)

I am doing a similar swap. B18b1 with a B16 head. Agreed that you will need to do high compression and a built head with some aggressive cams, like stage 3 or 4. Go head and build the bottom end while the B16 is running. Have the bottom end balanced and get an engine girdle like this one KMS Billet Engine Block Girdle B16, B18, B20 LS VTEC - eBay (item 350415562869 end time Nov-27-10 09:52:23 PST). You will need to rev up 10k to make 250 and a well built bottom end it a must. All Vtec B series motor have this stock and are balanced better than non vtec motors. You can use the b20 water pump and timing belt or a gsr water pump and timing belt. The gsr being the better choice but not necessary. The B20's low end torque with a high flowing high reving vtec head is a killer setup. I am only going for 180-190 whp so I and only going to upgrade the head some.

my brother is running close to 200hp or more on a b20b block gsr head that has been pnp stock cams stock springs, skunk 2 intake, hondata intake gasket, maybe different pistons but not sure, and a built 93 gsr trans, there maybe more done but it was tested and rated at 200whp buy a few local shops, he ran a 13.2 in a crx with this setup and still spins most the way down the track.. on street slicks

200 is about all a stock b20 bottom end can hold. It has thin sleeves and weak rod bolts. A friend of mine had a B20b with B16 head, Skunk2 intake mani, Type R header and Type R cams and springs. After he had it tuned he made 200whp. But he had the bottom end ballanced. If you are bulding the bottom end I high recommend this a the least.

they can handle more than 200whp. my tuner's car makes 400whp on a stock b20b bottom end... hes been daily driving it for about a year now on that motor.

Must have a really good tune. The rod bolts and sleeves are weak. 400hp it must be turbo, no way you cam make that NA. To make 250 NA you really need to spin the motor, so it needs to be built to handle it.
