Didnt see an intro section so I thought I'd drop this in here and say hi. My name is Cody. IM in the army, stationed in Alaska. Been up here for almost 5 years now. Honestly always been a domestic guy, but after selling off most of my collection all I have left is my 87 Grand National. It currently is down for an engine rebuild and so I picked up an 86 crx that is pretty clean for $250. Now the more I drive it the more fun it becomes. First off im just gonna fix the few things that are wrong with it and then I would like to maybe look into what I can do to to make it handle better and then maybe spice up the engine a bit.

That's how it happens - by accident.

I bought a '91 hatch for a beater so I could tear down my 4x4 for a rebuild.

Guess what, I rebuilt the hatch and am driving it today - truck is rusting out back.

Thanks for the kind words guys and gal, after consulting with a good friend of mine who is a honda freak, hes owned something like 25ish 4th gen civics in his years... weve decided that my crx is gonna be geared towards auto x & ice racing. Were gonna get a different cam for it do some head work and then beef up the suspension and be done with it. If i decide to do some kind of other honda project later down it will prob be a 4th gen civic hatch 5spd but dont get me wrong, this little honda kick will not put my grand national on the back burner by any means. once i can pick up the engine at the shop its game time. Our drag racing season is super short and the last race of the year is laborday weekend and im still set on running a 9 sec pass in it this year yet. ok im done rambling for now, i hope my stay here will be a good one and I can make a few friends aloong the way... coughteingirlcough... ;)


btw, are there any rules about posting things for sale or trying to buy as far as needing so many post or what not? ANNND... if someone has or knows where I can find a 84-87 crx si spoiler on the cheap please let me know. thanks!

if you can find yourself a nice 86-89 integra 5 speed you can swap the motor in there for an extra 25 hp and twin cam.
nice cheap upgrade using all stock parts
and those motors can take a beatin

is your car an si?
if its not then you would need to convert to the fuel injection system and it might not be worth the time
 
Yeah it's a dx but I'm gonna rock the carb, if I wanna go fast I'll drive my grand national! :)

i sort of thought the whole idea of racing was to go fast :shrug2:
extra perk if you pick up the first gen integra you can use some of the beefier front end suspension to tighten it up a bit
