So I decided to post up some pics of my project. I picked up a '93 Civic CX last year with the intentions of swapping in a different motor. After going back and forth a bunch of times between b16, b18b, ls/VTEC, and b18c, I finally came to a decision.
Here she is just begging for a swap. I was driving it back and forth between school and work for awhile since it was getting like 48 mpg lol. And don't worry, it only burns a quart of oil every couple of weeks!
This motor has a few miles one it, but it still keeps on running! Exhaust manifold is cracked right down the middle.
Looks like Santa came early! Steve at hmotorsonline hooked me up with a complete package that arrive a week or so later.
This is going to be quite the upgrade..... JDM B18C motor with tranny, axles, half shaft, shift linkage, P72 ECU, and hasport motor mounts.
Here are the mounts
Cleaning up the engine bay while I await a few parts such as timing belt, water pump, distributor cap, rotor, gaskets, seals, etc....
So this is where I am as of right now
I've been reading and researching like crazy getting ready for the wiring. I still have some questions, so hopefully I can find the answers on this site or possibly someone can chime in with an answer.
This is my first swap and I want to do things right. I'm not in any hurry since the car isn't my DD. I'm working on the car in my spare time between school and work. Been thinking about upgrading the radiator to something that's twin core with a more efficient heat exchanger. I don't plan on using the power steering on the B18C (mostly because my car never had power steering) and I ditched the A/C before pulling the engine out and I don't plan on putting it back in.
Well let me know what you think. I need suggestions/opinions for all aspects of the car (brakes, suspension, engine mods, paint and appearance...).
