hello im a newbie just registered lol. nyways
i got a 87 accord (yeah with the slow azz a20 carb)
i was wondering if its ok to shift into neutral without using the clutch
because it will go into neutral smoothly at a higher rpm then use the clutch to shifty in to next gear
so its kinda like double clutching right?

Made you a new thread... don't hang a post like this on a completely unrelated thread next time!

Sort of like double clutching if you're rev matching the whole time- otherwise you're just wearing down your synchronizers more than you need to be. If you rev match perfectly when shifting in and out of gears, you don't need the clutch at all.

That's how one of these is driven - clutch is only used for the launch - upshift/downshift are all done without clutch - just the right foot on the gas pedal and push the shift lever at the right time.

Don't do it with your car.

Yeah you should NOT do that with your car enless your very skilled with driving a clutch and match your Rpm perfectly other wise your gonna need a tranny or a rebuild which ain't cheap save your self and your car and use the clutch

Pops out of gear easily just by letting off the gas and slight force on the shifter. I do it all the time :shrug2:

They have off-the-shelf dog-engagement gear sets for Hondas now. ;)
