I had a d15 in it, the head blew. So instead of wasting money on the 1.5 i decided to swap up to the d16y7. Also swappin from auto to 5 sp. I have motor installed, timed etc. Took intake off my d15 so i could keep computer setup on the d16 and not swap wiring. too make long story short it wont start. I have my distributor, alt., on this motor also. anyone have any clues where i need to be looking to get this poor lil car running again? Im not trying to make it fast...just trying to make it go down the road!!

What ECU are you running? Hopefully you have a chipped OBD1 ECU and not that stock D15 (cuz it wont work)

was plannin on using the stock d15. so what ecu do i need?? where can i get a chipped ecu. like i said before i m not wanting to race this car. its going to be my wifes dd and just want something that will run and not give me problems

can someone let me know how to fix my problem? If i go with another ecu, which one do i need? Otherwise I will be looking to buy a 1.6l vtec out of a 92-95 civic if anyone has one or knows of one near northeast florida.(jacksonville) will travel upto an hour for a good motor, tranny, ecu and wire harness. i want to convert to a 5 sp...also

No matter what....you have you hands full with the conversion. Unless you've done it before. If you can find a D16Z6....its your best bet. Although no matter what....you cannot run the D15 ECU.....well you might be able to "run it" but not to its potential.

if I am correct you need a chipped p28 ecu

P28 is not the only solution. Its simply a chipped OBD1 Honda ECU. Many people are now using P06 (92-95 Civic DX) to chip. They're in abundance (which means cheaper) and can be converted to any application (if done correctly....more binary tweaks than a P28))

If he swapped the D15 manifolds over, why can't he use the stock ECU?

crank and no start or no crank?

You may be right.....I dont know a lot about IM on D series motors but I figure they DO NOT cross over/fit (In B series only the B16's and B18C5 are compatible)

To be honest, it sounds like your just talking to talk and have no real insight to offer him.

You are sure you've done the auto manual conversion correctly, right? You are aware there is wiring/rewiring involved in order to get the car to start. Such as, you have to leave the shift selector in place and place the slider in the nuetral or park position.

This might help... Automatic to Manual Transmission Conversion - HondaCivicForum.com

Pretty sure they all interchange since Skunk2 only makes one D series manifold.

Now, with that said a newer D17 manifold probably would not work on his, but thats not what we're talking about.

i skipped right to the bottom so maybe this was said. but as long as ur convertion went right your stock d15 ecu will work if converted to man. if not pick up a man stock p06 or what ever n ull b good. might even b able to trade at junk yard.

Well you are way off base and making a-hole comments. I was trying to give him some advise in a previous post. I know my way around a Honda pretty well although I am not the most proficient McGuyver when it comes to Jerry Riggin swaps together. And maybe you are some Riggin Guru but that doesn't give you a right to talk to me like that.

You were wrong on many points, which I corrected. No need to get butthurt that you were wrong or even take it to heart. I dont care what you know, when you're wrong, you're wrong and some people will out you. I am that person.

Not butt hurt about what info you brougt to the OP's thread just told you that your comment was asshole worthy. There's dozens of ways to say something and you chose to act like an asshole.....period.
