Win the Day
for those who didn't see it, Chael Sonnen beat the holy hell out of Anderson Silva, in dominating fashion, before letting down his guard and being triangle chocked with less then two minutes to go in the 5th. The fight reminds me of Hughes GSP 1: GSP outclasses Hughes until the experience of the champion led to a submission in what otherwise was a dominating performance by the challenger...

Chael even won most of the standup, here is betting he wins the rematch...

Dominating fashion? Eh, that's debatable. He was winning for sure but he still got both cuts on his face while he was on top.

IMO, Dominating would be GSP-Penn 2 :(

cuts have as much to do with bone structure of the striking surface used and the face as anything else. Lesnar can pound you until you look like the elephant man and you won't bleed. Silva hits one elbow to the brow of Sonnen and he bleeds, that isn't a sign of real damage other then a laceration...

Chael beat him up, chased him around the octagon, and dominated him on the ground for 20+ min. Sure it didn't look like a van dam movie, but it was MMA

Chael needs to train with Tito Ortiz and learn how to throw elbows.

Elbows cut the opponent, leading to early tko's. 4.5 Rounds of punching failed, only because his hands were covered in gloves.

Elbows and forearms do the real damage. I've seen it on TV and in person.

Cutting the opponent causes all sorts of problems. 1st off, seeing your own blood sets off all kinds of red flags. Also, cuts on the forehead tend to mix with sweat and leak into the fighters eyes... if you cant see you cant fight.
