ok well i was looking for an exhaust system and came across a pacesetter and was wondering if anyone has used one or knows if it would be worth the money , like good sound quality and what not, id like the performance but not a whole lot of noise like the n1 style crap and relatively cheap

friend had one on an integra... they are buzzy sounding and rust out quickly

means that they have a raspy buzzing sound to them

I had one. There are no flanges so it does not seal well and you get exhaust noise, unless you get it welded. I just replaced it with the apexi ws2 and I am much happier with my exhaust now.

I've been running a pacesetter cat back system on my 93 hatch with B18B1 almost 2 years and love the sound and there's no rust or leaks.
Very happy with the sound and performance.

you're almost better off running a generic POS from ebay. it will probably sound better and cost less.

ok so kinda mixed opinions on it then huh lol and ive had one of the cheap n1 style brands that was good for a while then was just too loud even with the silencer in so im not gonna waste money on one of those again

If you want something that sounds nice you have to spend some money. There's just no way around it. A Pace Setter system is not a good alternative to a cheap E-bay special, it's just a different kind of cheap...

i had one and it was the worst sytem i ever bought, there junk, the metal is thin they rust easy, and they dont sound good until about 75mph. just find you a used catback like a greddy or tananbe

Pacesetter... there's a name I haven't heard in 7 years. Even Escort guys (yeah they're out there still) hated Pacesetter, and we only had 3 exhaust options for them.

I second the Apexi WS2 opinion.

I love mine. A little over a year later and it still isn't raspy or rusted out.

if you already have an exhaust.. just buy a better brand axle back, like the apexi ws2..

ok.. another $200 and you can get the full exhaust.. lol .. or go to a muffler shop and have them bend you new piping for the muffler..

My Pacesetter sounds great to me. I can't stand the loud noise of the ebay fartcans. The muffler on my system is a good quality oval that looks a lot like a magnaflow.
It produces a good deep semi-quiet sound.
My opinion only.
I used them for years on VW air cooled cars through the 70's and 80"s. No problems at all.

checked honda-tech forum as well and got about the same response to stay away from them so i guess its gonna be back to stock for now ... just wish it would stop f**king raining ... i hate miami and especially with no garage

I'd say just drop some dough and get a quality exhaust. You won't regret it, and you won't be back here in a couple of years asking for opinions on exhaust systems again... :D
