ill give it a few episodes.... but i dont think they can pull off the magic like the real UK top gear does
 
Meh.

I'll watch it, but its yet to be seen if they can capture the comedic magic that UK Top Gear has. In the end, they don't have Clarkson, and I feel that kind of embodies TG.

I think American audiences will like it, but I'm not entirely sure on what I think about it yet. I do like adam ferrera.
 
It will never ever be the same as the original. Are they gonna get the stigs american cousin to run the laps for them?
 
meh. i'll stick with the british counter parts.

i dont like spin offs, or knock offs. (even though i know that top gear was most likely a one of those two) but, unless the brits in the uk version will be making special appearances, i just dont care.

The Office was a spin off from accross the pond wasnt it? And it did pretty damn well.
 
Why is the history channel so stupid these days? I hate it anymore.
 
The same reason TLC carries shit that is exactly the opposite of its name. I am sorry, no one learns shit from Cake Boss or Say Yes to the Dress. No one cares to learn things of substance these days it seems.
 
History channel, featuring ghost hunters!... um... yeah, complete and total loss of credibility right there.

And I call this an elaborate prank. There is no top gear with those lame asses. what would they do with 5th gear?
 
I'll check it out, but without Jeremy, James, and Richard, it just won't be the same.

Wait... I can kind of see the resemblence with Ghosts and History.

Besides, the amount of WWII History I've watched on the History, History International and Military channels lately is getting ridiculous, so sometimes it's nice to have a break and watch something like Ghost Hunters.

If I remember when this is on, I may have to try watching it but I haven't really watched TG a whole lot.

Did watch James May build his lego house last night after Brian told me to switch it there. That was awesome.

That's exactly it! WWII is not the only fucking thing that happened in history. Beside that they never used to play anything that didn't have direct connection to US history.. there are other parts of the world. History International only plays replays of their reality shows now too... it's terrible. I seriously HATE tv anymore.
 
See the issue that the History channel has though is no one really cares about Roman/Greek history because it was "so long ago", and no one wants to even talk about Vietnam let alone the Gulf war or OIF/OEF. WWII is the sweet spot, we won against a force that was easily labeled as bad. There was nothing ambiguous about WW II. It was cut and dry. Allies = Good, Axis = Bad.

With that in mind I completely agree with you, but I can see why they do what they do. Our generation is by in large a short buss full of helmet wearing window lickers. Which is why I own stock in Windex and Riddell!
