So... here is the dealio.
'87 BMW 325is E30
I go pick it up and it's mine title and all.
The guy (a friend) sent some pictures and has been trying to get us to come check it out. He lives literally 5 miles away. Just been busy this week.
It seems from the pictures and what he says it is in pretty good condition.
He says that he thinks it was run through a barbedwire fence seeing as how the fenders are messed up. Other than that rumor is something with the tranny. However I believe that I saw you can put a E36 tranny in it, maybe a E36 M3 tranny. ^_^
Here are the pictures that I recieved.
Thoughts or ideas?

is it free???

if so....AAA tows it to a shop, diagnose ALL issues. get estimate. if cheap to repair, have it done, maaco it. resell for as much as possible.

not sure if i would want to build the car unless i had the extra cash and just love love love old bimmers.

Free.ninetyfree! FTMFW!
That is an idea... but I dont think that I could sell it unless I was bound for cash.
I had an E46 330ci that I sold in January.
I dig it. I was wanting a car for SCCA but the newer 330 was going to be pretty spendy to track prep.
Maybe this will do for a little future track car.

it will be a project car, for sure..... can't beat free... but its useless to pick it up if you're just going to let it rot too.

Parts will rail you. I learned this the hard way. Other than that they're awesome cars. Wish I still had mine. Good luck, eagerly awaiting build.

Seems to be the new honda fanboi (or gurl) trend is to escape the Hondas and move straight towards an equally shitty, but still fun platform. The E30.

I'd pass, just cuz I had change. When I mean change, I mean relearning everything I know about one make to learn a completely opposite and sometimes backwards make, like BMW (or Ford for that matter).

Well arent you just a little ray of sunshine! :shades:

I understand what Im getting into here. I still need to go and survey it myself.
I dont think it will be hard to decide whether or not it will be worth the effort.
Either its going to be a complete turd bomb or in decent condition.
The only other downside now is to figure out where to keep it. As far as garage space the civic and the '66 are residing there currently which are nondaily drivers.

oh fo'sho.

wasnt trying to be negative. when i got my jeep i was happy to have something to wheel in... then it came time to fix it. ya, i hated working on that thing cuz it was compeltely backwards to everything i knew. lol.

i hope your pockets are deep enough. :) Can be fun track car, just needs more power. Drop an E36 M3 motor and tranny in it.

get in touch with the dentsport boys if you are really serious. they have TONS of older BMW upgrade parts laying around. probably for cheap.

Yea definitely, Ive already been scoping out atleast a E36 M tranny for it since the tranny may be one of the things keeping it from being mobile.
It definitely wont become a track star over night.

Thanks Chris.
