lowering springs Vs Coil overs

I wanna lower my civic sir Around 1.75 inch's to 2 inches. Whats better to get adustable coil overs or just lowering springs. I want a good ride, which are better for performance and which brand should I go with Skunk2 H&R Sportline?

If you aren't going to be autoxing or anything like that, get drop springs. They ride nicer and are cheaper. Tanabe makes great performance lowerings springs and they can be has for around $200. The Dress Form springs drop your car 1.8 front and rear.

i ride on the good shit all the time and am to this day surpised at how good the jics feel. my friends got a 95 teg on some kinda lowering spring and it fuckin sucks, granted its lower then the accord that the jics are on it rides worse and handles less.

Guess I wasted a grand on my Teins then If your just looking for a quality ride and looks go with springs, "sleeved" coilovers do ride like shit. The spring on a sleeve coilover is alot smaller and stiffer than a drop spring and your still going to ride on a metal perch. Go with the springs your ass will thank you for it.

edelbrock has a pretty good shock, it has an ias valve, so there comfy during normal driving adn they get stiff as you drive the car more aggresive.

has any one used those edelbrock shocks, i know they are badass on suvs but i haven't ridin them in a honda or compact.

as for the coilover thing i've got skunk2 springs on kyb adjustables, and it rides like a dream BUT i'm kicking myself in the ass now because i need to get my car on a trailer to get it to the dyno and i can't get it up the ramps, sits way way to low

whos got a suspention that they'd swear by, i dunno what to get on my next car ( mr2 turbo hopefully)

i didn't change my shocks, car rides fine. Doesn't bounce around at all. GOLDLINE makes a good spring, thick and sturdy.

coilovers vs lowering springs

Here is my 2 cents worth on this subject. I tried lowering springs on my Prelude, and it rode like a bucking bronco on steroids...scary. So. with my '02 Celica, we did the Eibach coilovers. Gives it about a 3" drop, and makes minimal noise...mostly in construction areas. I choose the coilovers over loweing springs, except for the price.

Cheap coilovers suck I have some and cant wait to swap them out. I here even good Skunk2 coilovers ride harsh. A good set of springs will ride nice. Tein, Eibach Skunk2 lowering springs all ride nice and handle well. The best setup is full coilovers the type with the height adjustment built into the strut like Tein Basics ect.
