Well, actually my wrist. Did it playing company softball charging home from 3rd. Crashed into the catcher full sprint & came down bad. I played a few more innings & when I batted something popped in my left hand when I hit the ball. Fuck me... I popped 2 500mg Vicodins & I still can't sleep because of the pain. Maybe the temp. cast is putting the wrong pressure on the joint? Has anyone else experienced this?

yeah i have broken a few bones before and usually the pain is not that extreme once you get a cast and pop a pill. but the first day or two are definitely the worst. when are you going back to the doctor?

Yeah i broke mine about 15 years ago playing hoops. I put my hand down to break my fall and that was it. It was a fairly minor break, but I still ended up in a cast for 8 weeks. I never did regain a full range of motion, and it still sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispies in the morning.

Best thing you could do is see a specialist.

Ive broke a few bones in my day; 7 to be exact. Your best bet is to go in and get it x rayed. Casts do not actually apply that much pressure per say. It just prevents your wrist from articulating. Oh and ask if they have a water proof cast. I had one when I broke my arm in Texas when I was 11 or 12.

do your physical therapy when you get out of the cast.
trust me on this
you might think its stupid, but in 10 years when your shit hurts like hell every morning, or every time it rains, you're gonna wish you paid more attention to healing it properly

:werd: !!!!!!!!!!!

On a side note, I would spike guys when they tried to run me down. If I did get laid out I made sure that a hand or a foot caught a few tines of my cleats.

dude, this is a fucking company softball game. :lmao:

i sure hope you didn't try to de-cleat the ceo of honda. i mean come on, why are you beating up on tiny asian guys.

haha I should have referenced high school ball. Pick up games and "family leauges" no way would I consider doing that.

did you intentionally crash into the catcher during a slow pitch softball game? :lmao:

Yes:ph34r:

It was a playoff game. We were down 1 run, bases loaded in the 5th. I was on third. The batter hit a dribbler to the pitcher and I was screaming full sprint towards home. The guy threw it to the catcher for the force out right when I arrived at the plate. I wanted to make the guy drop the ball or something. I slammed into the guy, sending both of us flying. I went down head first and instinctively used my hands to brace the fall.

My left hand was soar after that but I kept playing (we were short so if I dropped out it would have been a forfeit. not an option). I was in left field and even caught a few fly balls. I knew something was fucked when I batted. When I hit the ball there were 2 pops.

What really sucks is that I still got called out at the plate & we lost to end the season.

I'm not even going to read the rest of the posts in this thread...

DO THIS

So true so true

You laid the catcher out even after he tagged home plate? You where out the second the ball hit his glove as long as his foot was on the bag dropped ball or not.

It was a really close play. I was trying to get to the plate as fast as I could and he was standing on top of it

I gotcha, fair enough then. And I will be the third to say once you are "healed" work your ass off to get it back in order. I broke my ankle pretty bad my sophomore year of high school and even with PT my ankle aches when the weather changes. It isn't horrible yet but I am mindful to stretch it out and such

Yea I really want to make sure I emerge from this 100%. I broke the scaphoid bone (base of the wrist on thumb side). I guess hand injuries take time to heal so I am stuck with this cast for 6-12 weeks. They want to implant some ultrasonic device into the cast that supposedly promotes bone growth. Can't wait to see what the co-pay will be on that puppy.

i broke that same bone in my right wrist before. i was about 12 when it happened and didnt do any kind of PT or anything. it has never been the same... not constantly nagging or anything but still not quite right. its noticeable only when punching a heavy bag, or lifting weights. neither of which i do much of these days.
