B18 in CRX tranny question

hey i gotta questions im kinda beating myself up about this..i have a 91 crx with a d16y7 motor in it but i wanna get a eg hatch with the b series motor i kno bigger is not always better but here the thing..i have money around 3000+ to spend on parts for the d16z6 but if i get the eg hatch id have a little left over for maybe some bolt ons.should i just build a d16z6 and boost it or buy the eg with a b18b1 and add some bolt ons..i really dnt know what i wanna do with the money maybe you could help my out with some opinions
