im new to the whole online thing with the ps3, i wanting to play some old school games from the ps1 and maybe some from the ps2, is there a site i can go to that shows if the games are available for download to play on the ps3.
 
You can do that right on your PS3. Just go in to the store and look around. There's a section for "classic" games. It's mostly PS1 stuff at this point...

i have both 360 and ps3, i bought the ps3 for the blu ray i figured what the hell might as well play some games on it lol
 
How does Ps3 suck it has free online play and internet and has a blue ray player, and the controller Isn't hugemungous. I rather have a Ps3 than a Xbox thats just my opinion.

unfortunately, its for the PC only. Sony decided to lock the PS3 and close open source. Luckily someone managed to "jailbreak" it (stupid ass term), so we shall see if its in the future to emulate it on the PS3.

as for xbox 360 vs ps3, its a matter of preference. its a very strong media streamer and "htpc" from the start. supports lots of codecs and decent enough room to hold a few xvid/divx movies. also, i play a lot of fighting games and when i do have to use a pad, the ps3 controller is light years ahead of xbox controller; probably vice-versa on FPS games.

It just gets annoying. Its a ps3 thread. Someone always has to pop in and say how xbox is better. No on cares, just let it go ^^/.

In the end it's all pointless though. Everyone knows that the Dreamcast was the greatest video game console in the history of the universe!!!!!11

haha ironically, in a way it is. sure the titles sucked ball sack and the controllers were retarded as hell, but here are reasons why its one of the greatest systems of all time:

1) first to include modem for online play
2) arcade ports are perfect - great for fighting games.
3) open source as is with no mods. this means nes, snes, sega emulators.
4) played back up games with no mods to hardware.
5) played divx movies with no mods to hardware.

i would go as far to say it failed because it was too far ahead of its time. the xbox is a complete rip off of the DC with similar styling of the system and controllers itself. if it had better titles, i wouldve been amazing.
 
Sega has always been way ahead of the game. Remember the Sega CD and Jaguar? Using disks way, way before it was cool. I loved Sega :(

I would imagine that sooner or later someone will develop an emulator that you can run on your PS3. I will do some hunting around this weekend to see if I can find anything.
