wonder if airspeed can be maintained for a long period. granted he isnt going very fast, but drag will inevitably bring him back to the ground if there isnt any thrust.
 
I doubt you could maintain flight much longer than he did for the trial. Its an amazing proof of concept. And to think he did something that has been theorized for a few thousand years.
 
well i seen one back in 98 that was like that but had a full bike in it that powered i think 6 props it only got like 20 feet off the ground but it flew for miles and miles
 
yea im also curious how much human power it really needs. like is it pretty intense? or easy pedaling?

I think the one you're talking about was the first human powered airplane to cross the English chanel. That wasnt an ornithopter.
