Well, finally found a car that I really like, so I bought it.

It's a 2007 Mazda 6 I, 2.3L I4 (156HP, 154TQ), just a little under 50K on it, all for $9,000. Fun car to drive thats for sure and gets pretty decent gas mileage too.

Ill post a few more pics of it tomorrow when it's light out... and not cell phone pics haha...

yeah... it is, That's probably the only downside to it. But it still has the manual "shift mode" so its fine with me. Plus where I drive having a 5spd would be retarded and i'd burn through clutches like crazy.

lol not well... I've only had one car that was a stick in my whole life, and only had it for a month or two...

auto!?!?!

That's what I was thinkin...

I can't drive an automatic. No- seriously- I have an issue with it. For some reason everytime I try and push the clutch in my passenger's forehead hits the dash....

True Story:
I did this on accident in my mom's truck one time- my brother was the victim of the forehead to dash- it was freakin hilarious. I had to pull over and catch my breath.

I did this in my mother's bmw once to her. kinda scary.

It felt natural too because the clutch in my fit has about the same resistance as the brake pedal in hers.

OP: Not a bad car. I test-drove the 2009 and wasn't impressed, it's not a bad car, but it's just not for me. You have what you want, and that's all that matters. Auto isn't my preference, but you're the one driving and paying for it, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

those are good cars. not exciting, but overall real sturdy and nice.
congrats, price isnt bad either.

The new 6's though are awesome. (i used to work at mazda) had plenty of fun in the new ones. lol.

and i have done the brake slam as well. one of my last cars had a clutch in it that was much harder than pressing the brake pedal to the floor. it sucked, but made a good party favor to see who could and couldnt get it all the way down.
but, was driving one day in an auto, approaching an intersection with two of my friends in the car, i thought i was hitting the clutch, car slams us forward, went from 60 to barely rolling and i was confused as fuck as to why it did that when i hit the clutch. til i realized there was no clutch.
laughed my ass off.

I did that Saturday in a CR-Z with 18 miles on it. The dealer rep in the car was like "waoah, car brakes good, yeah?"

That reminds me of the day we test drove the Speed 3. My husband worked at the Mazda dealership, and one of the sales guys wanted to ride with us while we drove it. He was used to test driving all day every day, so he knew exactly where to go to show me how fast it would go in a short amount of time. I litterally thought salesguy was gonna have to change his pants when he got back, and he was a young guy- about our age or so. It was priceless.

the dealership i used to work at, we had mazda, nissan, subaru, and infiniti. when the new g37's came out, i called up the manager and said i wanted to drive it. he knew me, so he set me up with one of the new sales men to ride with me.
lmao, the guy was scared shit less.
i went out of my way to do shit to scare him and push the car, went to a parking lot that was hidden and always empty and slung it around a few times. then hit the interstate to see how fast it would go.
did the same with the 370z and another new salesman.

had some fun with the mazda rep for our region when he brought the new 6 to test drive. he didnt know the car could go that fast.

my subaru has that, i fucking love it.

Yep, that little compartment is great for just about anything.

On another note... some jackass backed into the front of the car... its not horrible, but I definitely noticed the half dollar sized chunk taken out of the bumper... So, Ill probably use the insurance to fix this one, since I pay for the extra thing that covers people backing into the car and what not.

Someone backed into it since you got it? Or was it already there?

I want a subaru :( I still want to keep my Mazda too, but gosh I love those cars.

Been thinking about an Impreza wagon myself,

A lot of times when I get in my mom's car, I'll sit down, seatbelt, clutch, brake hand on the shifter, start, put it in gear, ease off the clutch and take off. Then realize I look retarded cause it's an automatic.

And I've managed to do the brake slam in a manual. I can't remember if it was my 318i or my Accord, but whoever designed the car, ran the metal part of the clutch pedal straight up, and ran the metal part of the brake pedal to the left and right beside the clutch metal. One day I had my foot really high on the pedal, that's just the way it landed, and in the process of shifting, I managed to press both pedals down while shifting. That was fun.

And I had an Explorer winter beater that had bad springs in the rear brakes, so if you slammed the brakes too hard, you had to kick the pedal until they unlocked which made short stops at intersections fun

In any case, congrats on the new car, and good thing you're getting the bad luck out of the way early, right?

It happened sometime this past weekend I guess, don't really know when, but when I cleaned the car on Friday night it wasn't there. I noticed it Monday morning when I was leaving for work.

Gosh i know that pissed you off. I would have been madder than hell. It never fails you try and have something nice and someone else jacks it up for you..
