hey its been awhile since i've been here i now am verry serious on building a b18 but just want to know what is best to make around 250-300 hp and still be daily driver
 
he's going to need more than lsvtec to make 250-300whp

what b18 are we talking about building?
 
You got a motor/trans/ECU/shift linkage/axles/mounts yet? If not....$2500 wont go far in terms of any performance mod's.

If you already have the swap, to "build" the LS motor (like you stated), you would not get even close to your goals. In order to get there after the build would be nitrous or turbo but you wouldn't have much cash left from your $2500 budget.

Once again, if you have the swap, you can put together a new and used turbo system on an LS and get your goals....although the "reliability" of it would be in question...especially if you have a heavy foot.

I say you raise your budget if you have the high horsepower goals and want reliability.
 
Not to poopoo on ya, but check the local Craigslist for some kid that wrecked his car with the swap already in it and make an offer..
I think there was around 3 near me (memphis area)

Or even the classifieds here..

yea to properly "build" a b18 engine your probably talking around 20,000 dollars maybe more
 
well i ment 2500 for the motor im going to spend around 5or 6grand all together and there is a gsr for pretty cheap around me but it needs somthing on the block so i dont think ill go for it but the lsd tranny would be somthing i would like from that
 
might not be a gsr or ls but it would still work haha i doubt it would be 20000 sleeves pistons rods andfull skunk2 valve train with adjustable cam gears would run me around 3000, there is a guy that does bores around here for 150 bucks
 
cheap but verry verry verry mint and if i did get it i have a 92 accord with the f22 that car needs

Wow! Not trying to put a car into the stratosphere! A built B series is about $3000-4000 plus a Nice turbo set up $2500-4000. That amount of money will put any civic in the low elevens.....and faster.....especially if you do some of it yourself (leaves more money for tune time/axles/clutch)

For $7000, you can definitely get 350whp and be reliable if your foot isn't filled with lead. But you would most likely need to shop around wisely.
 
I know that bigger cams boring the block with a dip would get 50 hp alone plus a type r head is same price and 15 more then gsr. Just those three things take a 140 ls to 215-220 hp alone that is done for about 1000.
 
Breaking 240 whp in a b-series all motor is basically impossible to do on a budget. A buddy had about 20 grand into his block with ITB's and the whole 9 and only did about 254 whp.

If you want near 300, you need boost.
