Did you get yours? Sadly, have to perform daddy duties (doodies) before I can start playing tonight. Will try to start clearing licenses as soon as the boy is in bed- hopefully the Prologue stuff transfers over.

no ps3 :(
no game :(
no friends who have it that like me :(

I'm eager to hear some thoughts on this. I've read a few reviews that actually weren't that good. Nobody thought it was horrible, but just kind of "meh, it's cool, but could've been better" type reactions...

I'd love to get it, but I hate driving games with controllers, but can't shell out for a steering wheel and pedals right now.

I got in on a Logitech "B" stock deal (new product, damaged box) for the Driving Force GT at $77 shipped.

As far as reviews being not good (haven't read any on either side), it probably stems from the "it took this damn long WTF" mindset. So far all of my friends who have been playing it love it.

I've been playing it for about 2 hours, just doing the basic test and stuff.
I'm not a big fan of the menu systems, its a bit slow and clunky, however the driving is spot on, this really stands out when you're trying to weave in and out of cones, you can feel the car getting to its breaking point. It just feels right. In one of the test where you're racing, I went to pass someone during a high speed turn, went in too hot, got a bit sideways went to correct and flipped the car over a few times.

Oooppssss.

Is it just me or is the AI a little aggressive, especially if you drive with your high beams on at night and honk at all the motherfuckers who dare pass you?

Got mine last night. Definately a great game so far. Menus are a bit much and the base cars are kinda sucky - but premium cars make my mouth water.

AI is definately more aggressive. Been spun out 3-4 times and they will randomly try to ovetake you mid corner or pass you on the straight.

PSN - OMGaudiLOL

Guy in an EP3 was in lead, and I started flashing my lights and honking my horn (just fucking around) and the next thing I know he got infront of me and locked up his brakes.

Damage is generic on basic cars. Premium cars lose body panels, etc. If you roll it resets you back at the starting line - and you win a trophy for rolling.

Any forza vs gt reviews from our members yet? Someone who has played both.

Forza is more arcade like where GT is more sim like.

GT hands down looks better, has more cars, and so far I prefer the driving.

Forza has a better menu system, the tuning market seems more clear cut, and due to the points setup for each car, I'm guessing online play is more balanced for Forza, but I don't know yet since I haven't played GT5 online. GT5 menus are just one big cluster fuck.

GT does have a lot of stuff in it. You even have to rebuild your engine from time to time after you rack up too many races with it.

Over all I like GT5 over Forza, the AI alone as pointed out before is better, and it seems over all more legit.

If you're a hardcore sim gamer and plan on spending a lot of time in the game, GT5 is the clear cut winner.

If you are just a basic gamer looking to have some fun racing. I'd go with Forza.

Only thing that I have found so far that kinda sucks its the painting of the cars. You have to unlock the paint code before you can paint the car.. :(

Before I go further in A spec mode, I've been doing the special events.

Love all of them, but the whole NASCAR thing needs to die. I get it, it takes skill and a light touch. I just don't give a shit about going around in a fucking circle and drafting everybody.

The events do pay well though.

Nascar is almost too hard if you have only a controller. The challenges with the row of cones keeping you in a single lane is hard as hell for me. I can't keep the shitty car from weaving. Getting a wheel will improve this crap 150%.

The game it self is awesome. The only thing that does piss me off is the Standard cars Vs. Premium cars. It also sucks that you can't see what they are in game before you buy them (maybe you can and I just missed it), though you can log on to granturismo.com and see what they are on their car list.

PSN: Korax37 Anyone who wants to race realistic shit can add me. Light tune cars mostly. None of that "I got a turbo 809232 HP civic bs". Hopefully after Christmas I can afford a wheel. Then it'll be on.
